Yeah, that's what my local Buell/H-D salesman told me. I was there picking up some gaskets for my XB, about to tear the primary open to inspect some weird noises. And as usual, I stroll on over to all the new bikes sitting in the showroom floor for some drool time. I was looking over their VERY small Buell selection, a white '09 12R, a black '09 Ss, 1 black and 1 red 1125CR, an '08 TT, and an '08 1125R. I'm looking at the '08 1125R when Mr. Salesman says, "yeah they quit making that one(1125r), and replaced it with that one (points to 1125CR)" and I'm standing there, already knowing that he doesn't know what he's talking about, I'm like "Oh really? That's weird, they JUST started making that one for 2008, why would they stop after only a year?" He says "Yeah, I don't know, it IS weird." I just walked away. I love how they let people sell Buell bikes, that don't give a shit about Buell bikes. or at least not enough to figure out which bikes are currently in production. Sorry 'bout the mini rant...It's not the first time I've heard something like that from an employee at an H-D dealer about a Buell. |

As far as I can tell the mothership doesn't try to hard to support the brand. Then again, how long did it take HDMC to get it's sh!t together...100 years or so? Buell will get there eventually. -d |

You should have told the guy to make you one hell of a deal on that bike since it wasnt being produced anymore! |

And those experiences are why I drive 45 minutes to my dealership as opposed to the one that is 5 minutes from work. |

Lol, I used to think my local dealer was good for Buell work but with the horror stories on here, I guess I'm spooked. |

"You should have told the guy to make you one hell of a deal on that bike since it wasnt being produced anymore!" That's exactly how I got my VRSCR. |

"You should have told the guy to make you one hell of a deal on that bike since it wasnt being produced anymore!" Yeah, too bad they're probably still selling (trying at least) it at it's original list price. Which is even funnier. |

My nearest dealer is getting better. They've actually moved the Buells out of the far corner and put up some banners and such so you can actually tell they sell Buells. But last year I was there picking up a part and nearly sold a bike for them. There was a kid there looking to buy a XB12R and the salesman that was on the floor didn't know much about them. Me: "They changed the oiling system and beefed up the crank which lets the 12 rev higher now, it's still rated the same horsepower but it might respond better to some simple mods. Oh yeah and you don't have to worry with TPS resets anymore." Salesman: "What's TPS? |
