I want to video the upcoming ride I have if possible so I wanted to know what setup you have used to be able to film? I am riding a Bolt so the bar mount is not an option.

If you have any pics please post them.

Later,
Bart

Ochoa0042, I actually have not bought it yet. I wanted to see what kind of setup was being used before I purchased one. I wanted a good setup for my next trip through Arkansas

Buelltroll, how good is the quality of video with the Pro motion?

thanks,
Bart

....I wanted a good setup....
well since you're starting from the ground up.
- what type of money are you are you looking to spend?
- what is the Arkansas trip?
- will you be filming alot of rides?
- what is the quality you're looking for?
- how will you use the footage?
- will you be looking for killer angled shots? (like the behind the front tire look)
- AND lastly, will you want to use this camera for non-motorcycle use? like for birthdays or celebrations?

I, myself, would go with a HD digital camcorder that records onto a memory card with a A/V-port so that a bullet-cam can be used.

cameras of that caliber are very sleek, so its not so cumbersom on the bike or in your hand filming whatever. The video would be easy to download to the computer, video editing would be a snap.. only problem will be your computers preformance

I got a small bullet camera mounted to my left turn signal and the recorder in my tank bag.

I tried running a GoPro mounted to my XB.... It shakes too much to allow the camera to catch a clear image (It works perfectly on my 675).

The camera mounted to my helmet works great as well.

I highly recommend the GoPro if you want an inexpensive camera for computer and youtube videos. I ride track days with a few guys with very expensive, but awesome, digital recording systems. If you want to turn the videos into a hobby by itself, they are worth the money.

Just flipping through the March issue of CW and came across this.

http://www.vholdr.com

Videos from actual customers uploaded on their website so you can check video quality.

Cycle World says:
UPS
--Supplied 1GB mini SD card
--No external wires or battery packs
--Handlebar and goggle mounts available

DOWNS
--Can't see shot until file is downloaded
--Engine sounds drowned out by wind noise
--"Clipping" limited to one take per video

Sounds worth checking out from their review and for $330.

Check out this video from their site.

Not a big fan of wires ran from one end of my bike to the other or a camera zip tied to the front of my bike, seems like too much work to take it off and put it back on, unless you want it there all the time. And what did he say about turning it on? No switch just pull a fuse??? Naaaaah...

I didn't say that exact setup (there is room for improvement), but that idea would be similar to what I would do.

it was just a thought.

Here's my setup. I velcro my camcorder right to my helmet. I use industrial velcro though, you have to snap it together.

I used a velcro strap to connect to the left fork.
