What kind of seat are you running on your XB and how do you like it? I'm am thinking about getting either a Low seat or a Select seat. Need opinions about how seats compare. Thanks DC. |

I like my Select a lot. When I first got it I thought it was stiff but yet my Butt doesnt get sore on it. |

I really like the looks of the select seat over the low seat. What happened to the colored ones? |

Yeah, Buell offered blue, yellow, and orange select seats there for a while. I don't see them offered anymore. |

The Select seat is great, have done 300+ miles in a day without problems. It's not slippery when wet, but the V cut out on the seat cowl WILL direct the water right down your but crack. Like I said great seat but when raining it feels like someone's poring water down your butt. |

I have the Select as well and it's pretty comfortable over distance. It is actually 1" higher than the stock seat (i.e. same height as the City X seat or Skyline seat). |

I have the low seat and the select seat. The low seat is not bad around town, but when you do a whole day the backside gets sore. The select seat is more comfy, the down side is that it tends to slide you forward and squish the fellers and it is about 2" taller (guessing) and wider as well, so if you're short that might be an issue.. I'd like to try the street fighter seat one day to. BTW If you decide on a low seat let me know Mine is practically brand new and sitting in the garage. |

How is the street fighter seat comfort wise? Seems like it would be good for the twisties and not so good for the long freeway runs. |

Djcrysler, I haven't actually gotten a chance to try the select. I was just making a comparison to the stock seat and it is an amazing difference. I've ridden for more than 5 hours on my streetfighter and it really wasn't that bad |

2008xb12scg Would you mind taking a few pictures of the low seat next to the select seat. I'm considering the select seat, but I'm not sure about the height and width. thanks |

For the price of a Select seat, you might be able to get a local upholstery shop to custom make you one using your standard plastic base. For $225, a local shop made me a custom shaped full leather seat (similar in looks to the Corbin) - and even offered to reshape it later if it didn't make my a@@ happy! |

Pics of local upholstery shop seat job. I wanted a longer pocket so I could slide back a little. (OK, I've just got a big butt!)

Don - I would like to be able to sit farther back on my seat as well. How much did the shop charge you? |

It was $180 for the labor + $40 for upgrading to leather. D |

A low seat is not bad around town or the twistys where you are moveing around. I bought a select seat and the low was never put back on. Last year at the Smoke Out I talked to a lady who had riden down from Pa. on a 12scg. I let her sit on my select and she said "Damn that fills like a sofa" and told her husband to get her one as soon as they got home. |

I have tried a few different seats through the years, and I love my Select seat the best! -Stock CityX seat, soft and tall, with no butt stop. -Old low seat, very little padding, hard cover material. -New low seat, still very little padding, but a much softer cover material with a different texture, not bad for less then an hour. -Select seat, a little taller then the low, but way more comfortable. |
