Scorpion exo-400 helmet
Cortech python jacket
Cortech HDX Gloves
Tourmaster Overpants

I wear my jacket 99% of the time regardless of temperature. I hardly ever wear the pants. Except when it's cold. My helmet is on 100% of the time. I wear my steel toe work boots. If/when I get the money I'm going to buy some alpinestars boots and some denim armored pants. I also have a cortech textile jacket, but I hate it.

ok one pic speeks for thousand words:

This is a Bandit Helmet (simpson street bandit replica)
-Dainese full harmor with neck protection
-Dainese short with legs and coccyx protection
-Dainese knees and shins protection
-Original Roger De Coster gold series AlpineStars boots

and Gucci belt, of course Ha!Ha!Ha!

yes, a lot of you guys may think: wtf a fckn clown! but I love this Mad Max/afterbombing style look! And at that time the XB for me was the perfect Stempunk machine.
Last but not least, during the summer you I have a full protecion while stayng fresh and well protected. normally I use a red daienese jacket on it.
And in winter I put the winter clothes above it, even for skiing! and of course for next's year Lybian Raid!
Cheaper than have a full equipment for summer, winter, skiing and dirt biking..

Icon Domain 2 Warthog Helmet
Icon Tarmac 3 Gloves
Icon SuperDuty 3 Boots
Shift Riding Jeans
Icon Arc Textile Jacket and the Arc Mesh
Icon Leg Field Armor
Icon Arc Textile Pants for the cold/protection
Icon MilSpec Backpack and Vest

I low sided with my Arc Textile Pants, Jacket, my old Domain Decay Helmet, and Tarmac gloves. All I got was a skinned knee and a messed up bike . I was also wearing my work boots, steel toed and they saved my foot. A day earlier my friend wrecked his Ducati with tennis shoes on and jeans, tore a hole in his foot and knee .

Good gear is worth every penny. Besides, I have to wear over the ankle boots, long sleeves, long pants, gloves, and a helmet with bright visible colors. At night I gotta have bright colors and reflective gear on per AFI 91-207 or i forfeit all medical benefits and have to pay for my own medical bills.

Good thread-

Deal with the "who needs any gear" mentality way 2 often in my profession...

Me...ATTGATT, but always can improve something:

Always...full faced helmet. Sorry won't compromise here. Like to protect the part of my head I plan to use again. I like ALL of it!

When it's warm-
New Buell Mesh Jacket (believe its Joe Rocket stuff, I love it...ordered back armour.. will get it next week)
Jeans
Knee pads under jeans (yeah, THAT's attractive...nice knees...wow)
Oxtar boots
Buell track day worthy gloves

When it's chilly
Nexgen jacket (fully armoured)
Riding pants (reminds me of the snowpants I wore when I was 5, without the CE armour)
Oxtar boots (One size larger to accomodate the heavier socks and disposable warming insta-heat pod thingys that hunters and outdoorsy types use)
Cold weather gloves plus heated hand grips.
Always feel a little nekked without the knuckle protection tho. Be Safe! B.

KBC full face

Sidi boots

Constant layer: jeans, long sleeve t-shirt.

Hot layer: Joe Rocket vented jacket and vented over pants.

Cooler: Nexo leather jacket, Buell Adventure pants.

Cold: under armour cold top and bottom, turtleneck, sweatshirt, liner from old jacket and vest with high neck.

If I was doing it over again, I probably would get the Adventure jacket instead of the Joe Rocket.

Buell clothing prices are not too bad.

I always wear one of these.

Shoei X-11 or Arai Quantum helmet.
Buell textile jacket, HD Nevada leather jacket, or a really old Vanson leather summer jacket.
Leather or textile riding gloves.
Leather boots from Cruiser Works.
Jeans.

What I wear depends on the weather, where I am going, and for how long, etc. I ride year round night and day in sun, rain, snow, hot and cold wx and have combinations for all.

I often wear either Dragging Jeans and or a textile riding suit, I have 2 different ones.

helmet - Shoei RF-1000 Picotte
jacket - Tourmaster Transition
gloves - Craftsman Professional work gloves
pants - Tourmaster Caliber
boots - Oxtar TCS EVO RX

I've also got a Teknic Chicane leather suit for the track or if I just get the urge to look like a tool riding around on the street.
If I need to maintain the ability to walk normally, then I wear steel toed leather workboots in place of the Oxtars.
Oh, I've also got the HD heated jacket and pants liners. Plug those puppies in and you WILL be warm fast. I once rode 300 miles from Columbia, MO to Omaha, NE in 33* weather. No problems at all.. just had to stick some hot hands packets in my boots.

I really need to get some more protective gloves, but I've spent so much money on different gloves and am never satisfied with the comfort, grip, etc. The Craftsman Pro (the yellow ones) gloves are amazing for grip and comfort. The cheaper Craftsman series that are red.. not so much.

I ride as long as there's no water in solid form on the roads.

Scott you're absolutely right - the transition is an amazing jacket. Very warm with the liner in it, and at least bearable in the summer with the liner removed. Before I got the transition I had a leather Icon Burner jacket and it was hell wearing it in the summer time!

"i need to research some pants and leg armor, and maybe boots."

The Caliber pants are a good match for the Transition jacket. They have a zipper in the back that matches up to the zippered elastic panel on the bottom of the jacket. They come with armor at the knees.

The Oxtar boots are far from the best out there, but they only cost $140 IIRC. They offer a lot of protection just without all the flash of $400 SIDI's. I've never worn any kind of touring boots so don't have an opinion on those, but the boots I have are comfortable enough for long distances. Before I swapped to aluminum pegs I got a lot of vibration through the old steel ones - the hard sole of the riding boots prevented a lot of fatigue from the vibration that was bothering my feet when riding with soft rubber sole work boots.

Hope this helps. It's great to see other riders actually concerned with protective equipment. Oklahoma is a no helmet state so there are a lot of riders out there rocking the bandana, sunglasses, and t-shirt look. I'd hate to see anyone go down with that kind of gear.

i really appreciate the responses.and in my other thread about how it has helped when needed.
i think the big difference of all the responders is that pants are the last piece to get attention.i am going to rectify that next week.
otherwise our responders have it down, 'cept for pants.well they have pants....just not like the jackets LOL

Lotsa cool gear in this thread. It seems to me that much of it is expensive. There are low budget ways to ride ATGATT. I use a GMAX full face helmet, the one with like 17 vents. (Platinum G65?) $120
My jacket is a textile, all seasons adventure kinda unit from Rooster Performance. CE armor at elbows, shoulders and back. Built in hydro pouch, backpack, tool storage, reflective panels and piping, removable liner and sleeves, fully vented and waterproof. The list of features goes on and on. Under $200 incl shipping. Made right here in Oregon so ya know it's good.
I use heavy leather work gloves in the summer. $15
Leather (with fuzzy lining) riding gauntlets from the local Honda shop for spring and fall. $25
FXRG heavy winter gloves for the cold stuff. Expensive at $100 but what are ya gonna do?
I've got a couple of sets of leather pants I've picked up over the years just trading with friends for cheap. They have saved my ass more than once. Litterally.
8" heavy work boots like my current Carhearts. On sale for $54.

My whole set of gear for the entire year probably costs less that one of those "Stitch" riding suits.
