Hi, I'm rebuilding the forks on my 07 xb9 and I don't have the repair manual. I would appreciate if someone emailed me the procedure, if possible with some pics, so i can do this correctly. I don't have time to wait for the repair manual to come in the mail, so thats why i'm posting. Thanks. |

Those are owner's manuals and won't have the detail you need. Register anyway. A couple of manuals can be found online here: I've got to assume they're legit. www.[redacted].php (Message edited by jerry_haughton on April 15, 2009) |

>>>I've got to assume they're legit. They are not, they are stolen, Order a manual, have it overnighted and you'll be in good shape and you'll know you have the right stuff. |

By the time you buy the fork spring compression tool or fabricate one, you can have the manual in your hands. |

I feel Buell should provide the service and IPL manuals to their customers via the Buell web site. Yamaha provides IPL list. |

I kinda do too. I'd like to see an annual subscription . . perhaps with the annual owners deal or something. I love the way Ducati does it and I'd start them and then make a world class system.
- Look up the part.
- Click on it
- Find out how many are in stock and where
- Click to order
- Credit goes to the dealer closest to your zip code
FYI - Buell has this system, along with "build your own" and "check dealer inventory" in 1997 and it got shot down. Buell was YEARS ahead of the industry and HD had a terrible fear that if Buell had it . . . HD would look like they were not "high tech". I still have the video from the time I spent at M.I.T. and even my dancing at the Harvard Faculty Club the night we concluded development. That angers some folks at HD. I still like it. |

Or maybe we could just help the guy out. What are you having problems with specifically? |

panhead, not really having any problems just didn't want to do it without knowing exactly what i'm doing. I have all the tools and seals and such, just not the manual. not a big deal i could figure it out without, just don't want to go that route. |

Sorry Court, don't mean to violate rules. They've been on that site for a while now. They were gone for a while and the mod said they'd be back when they cleared up the legal stuff. Thought they had. Would be nice to have legit pdfs. Had a race mechanic who had never worked on Buells do some work for me. The pdf was handy to have and he used it, which moved him up in my estimation. Unlike the argument on the other thread, this mechanic had already told me that he would seriously discount the hours because he was going to learn about Buells as he worked on it. Remember, I said he was race mechanic. Actually asked me to pay lower than original because he thought it took too long. I was satisfied and stuck to the original terms. "Ha," I said, "Don't try to discount me!" |

Sorry Court, don't mean to violate rules. No worries and they are the law, not my rules. They've been on that site for a while now. They are on many sites, so is kiddie porn. They are all illegal. The HD legal folks get some of them but they can't get them all. As honest Buell owners that's where we come in by making their business model worthless. Thanks for understanding. >>>Would be nice to have legit pdfs. It absolutely would and I've been campaigning long and hard for that. It sucks cause constantly updated ones actually exist. I'm going to keep working on it. In fact . . . my idea is even lots bigger and better. But till then, I do everything I can to stop people from breaking the law and stealing from my friends. Let me know who the mod is. I'd like to have him/her discuss with Harley-Davidson legal. I think they are telling you something that is untrue. Good thing you came to Badweb where you can get solid facts. No foul. |
