Believe my '04 XB12 motor will roll more kilometers than I will live to ride, Zimone.
Your questions are examples of why I am here, too.
Maybe you've opened the ultimate thread?

Note that Tramp has an older tuber. Hopefully the XB's can be expected to last even longer.

My guess is you're asking how fast will an xb go and what modifications were made to get it there.

Asking 'Mercans about metric does not usually work out well.

Anyway, there is a thread going on here called "top speed" that will give some of the answers. In miles, you'll have to convert the numbers.

Don't forget there is a rev limiter that decides the top speed.

Iamarchangel remember that not everybody here is Mercan, and some of us are from the other system that most places use.

Ziomone sorry I can't really help since mine is an09 and I only have about 3000km on it and so far it's stock but a drummer is coming my way very soon. Problems I have had with it so far are the dreaded bad idling and bad gas/millage, replaced eng temp sensor but that didn't fix it so they were really ok and didn't need to be replaced, they finally came to the conclusion that my ecm was out of wack and replaced it under warranty like everything they have done to the bike so far

Thank you everybody,
My question is
What reliability has an XB motor?
Which longevity?

Sorry for the bad language!!!

Thanks

No intent to offend.

And I was wrong on the question, it wasn't top speed at all.

there are many buells here with over 50,000 Kilometers on them they are extremely bulletproof as bikes engines go but they are also fair on fuel for the Europeans that is a big difference as you pay quite a bit more for fuel thab we do

No intent to offend.

No offense taken man I was just pointing at the fact that their is many buell riders outside of the USA, not as many as I hoped in Canada but Europe seem to be a very good market; and since you guys are the last ones that didn't switch to metric I think I just wanted to be a smart ass lol

The other fun thing about Buells is having to have both metric and imperial/standard tools at hand.

There was a great article from Motorrad Magazine where they did a long distance test on an XB and did 50,000km on a bike and then tore the motor down to inspect for wear.

They beat the bike to death trying to get it to break.

There was surprisingly little wear to the motor.

It is well made and very dependable.

The Motorrad article FT_B mentioned is:

November 2006
MOTORRAD
"Prima Thunder"

I don't have time to find the whole article right now, but if you search the way back machine ( www.archive.org ) you should find it on an older version of buell's home page.

Buell engines do not do kilometers.

They do miles.

One mile equals 1.609344 Kilometers.

Glitch has a 2003 XB9 with over 60,000 miles with the original engine.

Rides hard, maintains it well.

OK?

Beull builds many export models, nearly all the rest do kilometres.

See, Js Buell, see, see...

They never see.
