Ok I think I am finally done for a little while! Now its time to go out and ride! A few people have asked me to post some new pics, so here they are. Its a 2007 XB12Ss with a R tail conversion. Powder coated wheels, carbon grey to match the frame, and ceramic coated black headers(Thanks Pete from Grandstand Designs) Gutted stock muffler Tattoo style! (thanks for the help Jim) Home made LED tail light with integrated signals Xopti tuned Other random stuff, nothing special Here is the before, I bought it bone stock, but cant find my original pic This is just with the jardine and header wrap. Here is how she sits today Sorry for the cell phone pics, my digi bit the dust last week. Still needs a good cleaning, but the rain stopped so I really wanted to get some pics. And my favorite pic

thanks everyone, its nice to finally see what I was envisioning in my head come to life. There are still lots of things to do, but its definitely come a long way. Pete, the wiring harness wasnt bad. It was modifying the subframe to fit on the Ss frame. The top mounts are wider on the Ss, then on the S or R frames. So I literally cut them off, and machine new offset ones. Then had a welder weld them back on. |

Thanks guys, my goal is to get all the shiny stuff off someday. I would really like to just have the black/carbon grey theme throughout with some hints of carbon fiber. I actually want to find a regular airbox with the scoops instead of the CF. Its just a little too much. I think I want to stick with just CF accents like flyscreen, heel guards, left and right scoops, ect. Plus the weave on the airbox doesnt match the flyscreen and it bugs me! Hey brumbear, I am sending you a message, we need to get a north Jersey Buell day going. I am excited I actually have found 4 of us so far! |

wow, your bike looks amazing. I'd like some info on some of the mods you did. first of all, are those stock handle bars for an '07? if so, is the mounting similar to that of an '03? how involved what the R tail swap? and what year was the donor bike? where did you get the info. Ive got an '03 XB9S and would love to do that tail swap. agian, thats a great looking machine. excellent work |

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Its_a_Buell, Those are crossroads bars. They are sold my www.americansportbike.com Not sure what year the donor bike was, I believe a 2005. The swap is not as involved as you would think being that you have a regular S. The tail will bolt right up and then you just need to find a place for the fuse box and ecm as they are in the front fairing on the R models. Do a search on S to R tail swap, you will find a lot of info. Thanks for the kind words, J |

Then had a welder weld them back on. what does this post refer to? in a more recent post you mentioned the tail swap was a simple bolt on with the exception of the ecm and fuse box. do you think it would be pretty easy to convert it back to the S subframe? |
