I'm looking to change my headlights on my XB9S. I love the lightnings who have the chrome headlight assembly and the headlights are much slimmer. I have been searching and I think I found what those guys use. But I want to do it much cheaper. Any ideas? Here's the LSL Migs. There are a few guys on the forum that have them I think. Here's the website. http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/mig_lights.cfm I just want to put the lights from the firebolts onto my lightning. Any help? |

Do a search for HID lights. Quite a few of us have them, and I don't think anyone regrets getting them. |

Well the number of middle fingers I get per day has quadrupled since getting HID's If you weren't riding like such a dork that might not happen Or better yet properly aim your lights. I NEVER get flashed (or fingered) over my lights.

Hey Point_doc, what is the purpose of the bolt-on crosspiece on your handlebars? Does that actually DO anything, or does it just serve as a mounting point for accessories? ~SM |

SM, The Pro-Taper bar is sold setup this way and the purpose is to reduce flex in the bar when you are steering/counter-steering in the turns. When I am romping thru some tight "S" turn's I still get a little flex, but not a lot. I have seen setups with this bar used as you have mentioned with accessories attached. The third pic was to show where the switch for the PIAA lights was mounted, I should have labeled. John (Message edited by Point_Doc on April 13, 2009) |

In San Diego, we have very warm nights and it is fun to ride in the mountains and deserts. The OEM lights even with improved aftermarket bulbs do not illuminate around a turn and this was the reason for attaching PIAA Driving Lights. They allow me to pick a line and keep it thru a turn at night, or otherwise I lose the line and this is the very moment of having fun stops! (Message edited by Point_Doc on April 14, 2009) |

I took my bar-end mirror mounting post and turned them down and threaded 10mm X 1.25mm to fit in the OEM mirror posts. The line of sight is between my body and arms, straight behind me. My peripheral sight is great, it is right next to me (this has minimized the blind spot). The only drawback that I have found is that because of the low height location as compared to the OEM's like all bar-end-mirror's, I do not see a great distance behind me; like when I am looking out for the police. |
