I trying to figure out whether my cooling fan is bad, or if it is the the switch(if there is one) that regulates the cooling fan. It doesn't come on at all any more but it used to start off very weak as if the fan wasn't getting enough current to turn it quickly, then all of a sudden it would come on full blast. |

JR is in Glendale, AZ. March average low is 46F. After a ride here (MN) in that temperature, my fan comes on. |

The cooling fan is controlled by the ECM. The ECM "cuts on" the fan when the rear head temperature reaches 428F. and shuts off when it cools to about 360F. Ambient conditions below 85F., in my experience, do not seem to affect when/if the fan runs. |

It should come on when you shut off the engine. Is that working ok? |
