Went out for a long ride last night from Tampa to St. Pete and back by way of the Skyway. Stopped and watched the sunset from the S. pier at the bridge and headed back home on 75. Got home and noticed that the center of the stock Diablo T is down to the cords. There's also a lot more chunks of rubber stuck to the rim than I had noticed in the past which is odd, because I was running on the highway at sane speeds, nothing out of the ordinary. What can I say... all commuting and no twisties will do that I guess. So anyway, from what I read people like the Corsa III's. My riding is mainly commuting- is this a good choice? |

Dont know about Corsa's... I know lots of people like pilot road tires or the road 2 tire with softer side's... Another tire to look into which is raved about for great life and grip is the Continental Road Attack. |

I used to run Pirelli Diablo Stradas on my Firebolt. They had excellent traction in any condition that I ever road them in. Also, treadlife was pretty good, especially considered that I was never easy on the throttle. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to get more miles out of a tire without sacrificing performance. |

For commuting Diablo Stradas all the way. I got 10500 out of the rear on my xb9sx; and they still have enough grip to go play on weekends. |

I have limited experience with modern street/strada tires. That said; I like pirellis. Feels good in the rain to me and not bad on cold pavement. |

Going to check out the Stradas today, thanks everyone. I'd say 90% of my riding is commuting, so long life is more important than being able to scrub off the chicken strips, especially in the traffic around here. |

Yes I just bought Strada's(sport/touring)tire.I love them.Sport tires like the straight corsa wear out in half the miles of a sport touring tire.So if you're a knee dragger, the Strada may not be the best for you. |

Holy hell... I know where I won't be buying tires from. HD dealer: Diablo Strada- Front: $166.95 + $80 mounting Rear: $214.95 + $96 mounting $560 seems kinda high. |

$560 does seem a bit high. I just had my tires replaced at a local shop for $385, mounted and balanced. Got a nice set of Bridgestone BT-002s too |

$176 just for mounting? Damn! The local shop I go to does a free mount and static balance when you buy tires from them. And they have good prices on their tires too. |

Can anyone give recommendations as to where to buy tires from in the Tampa/ St. Pete/ Lakeland area in that case? (Message edited by saratoga on April 06, 2009) |

+1 on the Diablo Strada's! I've found they work just as well in the city when it's 15 degrees out as they do on a rain soaked highway and even Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course at full lean and full throttle! |

I would look online, you can get the best deals online. As for mounting, go to a local motorcycle place, out here for me, its North County House of Motorcycles (tire prices and mounting is the only thing they have cheap though). I run the Michelin Pilot Roads on my bike and got about 9500 out of my last back tire, so far i have about 4500 on this one and over half the life left on the middle. I use the bike to commute and the occasional trip to Palomar Mtn. Tight Side.
(this was just this last weekend up there) |

FYI: Ridge in Lake Wales usually has the Stradas in stock and mounting is only $1. And, will replace brake pads at the same time with free-labor. It's a bit of ride over from Tampa but a fun trip if you go the back roads Rt. 60 to 27. I just had my rear Strada replace at 11000 miles and the front is still running with good tread on them. |

Found a Honda dealer near me that will mount/bal for free if I buy tires from them. Thanks everyone. $400 sure beats $600! |

I'm still running on my first set of Pirelli Diablos at 10K on my 07 12R...plenty of tread but I plan on getting new ones due to the developing flat spot from long highway miles. I still get the same grip and the handling has always been great. -d |

OMG what a rip off I paid $140 for Rear Strada and $40 for mounting. IMO Strada is great for mileage but i dont like it as much as the Diablo T in the corners. I am switching to Rosso which replaced the regular Diablo's Better handling but a bit less mileage. |

I would have been happy to get 4100 miles on a set of tires. I got 3700 on my Dunlop Qualifiers. Heading for Conti Road Attacks next week. |

Go to 112 W. Fletcher Ave. in Tampa. (Cycle Gear) They mount and balance tires if you bring them the wheels. |

I replaced my Diablo T rear at 8k mile and it was completely gone. replaced the front at about 11k. again...completely gone. I'm running stradas front and rear now. they seem to grip better when they're warm. they grip a little less when they're cold.. I've slide a wee bit once or twice on cold damp morning. i'm at 13k miles now and the rear looks like it's got at LEAST 50% life left. i usually buy tires online and have the local honda shop mount and balance them for me. $20/tire if you bring them a loose wheel and the tire. |

Thanks, I already had the shop get them... just need to make time to go have the new ones mounted. This weekend is out because I have a race tomorrow so it'll have to wait until next Sat. |
