After looking at more than a few mufflers. (The links were posted in another thread.) I have a question to those of you that actually used one. How much do those mufflers weigh? |

Whoa, what was that? Sounded like a bomb going off, in a nice way. Can you get a longer clip? |

I've got the muffler off at the moment doing something with the tips. I'll record another longer one as soon as I get it back on. |

could anyone tell me how the magnaflow 11148 exhaust compares to a jardine? I like the Jardine sound, but my head resonates after a very short while, hence, why I am considering a special ops, or Drummer. Dave |

The magnaflow is deeper in tone. The jardine killed my head and left my ears ringing after rides. So far this one hasn't done that. |

thanks for the reply, did the actual mounting of the muffler require modifications of the brackets and straps? I assume I need to keep the Jardine inlet elbow? TIA |

I welded a small piece if metal to change the curve for the rear factory bracket and reused the clamps. And if you have a jardine elbow go ahead and use it. It saves you from making one. There are some pics of the bracket here http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/444916.html?1237407197 |

The magnaflow has a killer tone and, what's that, a ricochet? What is that antenna wire sticking out front of it in the pics? Is there any weight saving going to the magnaflow? |

well, thanks for all the info, looks like I will start ordering parts next week. I am still trying to decide on which rear hanger set-up will be easier: the one with the OE straps and shim bracket, or the one with just a bracket welded to the muffler case. |

the one with the OE straps and shim bracket I would use the stock style set up for mounting. No chance of the bracket breaking that way. |

Thanks Hero. With the XB9 using a Latus you'll gain. Not so much with a XB12. |

No problem Glitch. Oh BTW Thats with out the front chin spoiler brackets. I tried getting those on and just wasn't working out for me. XB12s_streetdemon If you look at the Americansportbike exhaust shoot out. The Latus was one of the biggest power makers for the XB9. I don't have a custom map but I do have a race ECM. I don't think im makin quite what they made but close. (Message edited by herobluebuell on April 06, 2009) |

To those with the Magnaflow 11148. How did you mount it up and does it fit right up to the header pipe? Same diameter and all? Also did you do any remapping or anything else? Maybe a parts list of what you used too. (Message edited by runswithlightning on April 07, 2009) |

how about tips for the magnaflow? I looked all over, need 2" OD or 2 1/8" id chrome turn downs for this muffler.(most of the ones I have seen are really long). (Message edited by resinboy on April 25, 2009) |

finally got the Magnaflow installed yesterday. Has a slightly deeper tone to it than the Jardine, but volume wise, I gotta say it's just as loud, if not slightly louder. Still a little too loud for me. Since I already had the Jardine elbow, total cost for this mod was as follows: Magnaflow, $70.00 shipped, twin chrome outlets (that actually fit)$30 shipped, welder helping me out cheap, $20.00- so $120, not bad for a DIY. |
