Hi, you can use simple auto paint, no need for heat paint. Jens |

From what I have read, the cam cover is NOT easily removed. |

getting the cam cover off is kind of a pain don't know if you could do it with out dropping the header 1st. I tilted the motor and took of the header. Then tapped the cover with a rubber mallet tell I gap showed up by the gasket. Insert putty knife and work it off |

If you're going to take it off you might as well have it powdercoated or buy a new one that is black from the factory and sell your old one. And yes it is a pain to take off..........

Ummmm... Isn't it generally considered a Bad Idea to take the cam cover off without rotating the engine, taking off a rocker cover, and relieving the valve spring pressure on one of the cylinders? Something about no outer support causing the cam bearings to get jacked up? (Message edited by elf on March 25, 2009) |

Well I did it 20K miles ago and it still runs fine. Although I did rotate the motor and install the cam cover per the service manual. |
