Greetings all, After thinking about getting one for quite a while, and reading numerous posts ... I finally got mine ... I figured it was criminal for an '03 to sit next to the street with only 1538 miles on her - somebody didn't appreciate her, but I will.
This is just after I got her, so she has some changes already. Mirrors are replaced, added frame protectors, handguards and headlight cage, new airbox and K&N on the way, reflectors gone, Dunflops replaced with Scorpion Syncs, and turn signals gone in the front (new mirrors have LEDs). After reading everyone's threads for the past months, my plans are for a axle sliders, new seat, LED taillight with integrated turn signals, exhaust (SpecOps most likely), switching the belt guards with a small set from a 9/12R (and carving them up), new levers ... crap, out of $$ already. So before folks jump in ... the rear pegs have to stay so the better half can ride too, not planning on the tail shave (gonna try something else, but don't want to look like an idiot if it doesn't work out), and yes I do have new riding gear already, so I can continue to dream about spending $$ I don't have. Thanks to all of you whose posts I read for the past 6 months and advice I took to get me this far. I only joined one Buell forum - this one - because it's no BS ... just good/true info, even if you don't like what you hear ... and some good joking for those who have the skin to take it. Who knows, I might just fit in ... -Doug |

Doughnut ... thanks for the interest - here's my 'boat':
It's got 105,000 HP, but nowhere near the power-to-weight ratio nor turn radius of an XB Odie - 'Welcome Aboard?' ... that's my line! (Message edited by Captcaz on March 25, 2009) |

Welcome to the forum, congrats on the new XB. +1 on the SpecOPS pipe, have one myself and sure am happy about it. I would suggest CRG shory levers myself but anything is better than the stock ones. Just make sure you put on some Dark Horse Moto front/back/bar-end sliders ASAP -- best single investment IMO! (Message edited by didactic on March 25, 2009) |

I might just fit in Oh yeah, I can tell. Welcome! That's a pretty nice deck, but I don't think you'll EVER get out of second gear, if you even manage to get in it. Rotzaruck! |

I read that topic and figured Jrice posted this. First off its Jraice, not Jrice and second please dont call me immature for posting and then go and make a reference to me in a thread I am not participating in. |

03 is the best year!! I have an 03 XB9S myself and LOVE it! Also have a Special Ops pipe! Love that as well! Odie does some fine work! and naturally have a set of Dark Horse Moto sliders....hope to never use them, but again top notch stuff! And gotta agree with Boney95! XB Lights are a good choice for the integrated tail light :-) first things first....go get some sliders! Because you just never know! Keep it safe out there and get your pocket book ready for a harsh beatin! Ive never been more addicted to anything in my life then buying "extra" stuff for the XB! Its addicting......seriously!!!! -Robert www.xblights.com |

Thanks guys, Maybe Js_Buell can bring over his CH-47 and load my bike with the sky crane ... kinda long flight from Canada though. I'll put up some new photos once I get my new stuff on, and get ready for some really strange questions - ie, Will an IR transmitter on top of the upper air box cover (in the spot where the servo goes on the 12) go thru a Kick Ash cover to a set of IR headphones to give wireless tunes in a helmet? I've looked at Bluetooth and FM broadcasters, as well as the laws regarding tunes in one ear only ... just looking for something that doesn't need wires ... and it would get power thru the switch on the right bar (normally for the heated grips) so I could shut it off easily if needed. Thanks again for the warm reception ... and Js_B ... I'll call the tower - you got a 'green deck' whenever you need it. |

Hey Doug... click on the thunder cat symbol! Your local "support group" Welcome to the wonderful world of Buell. Hopefully you can make it out sometime so we can help you put some miles on your new acquisition. I've had my 07 for just 21 months and I just cranked the gauge over 16K miles!!! (Yeah, we ride the pi$$ out of them!) Most of us are heading to Suches GA this weekend for March Badness, but we'll be back!!! |

Thanks Mel ... I checked it out a couple weeks ago, seems like you frequent Hoss's on the peninsula and meet up at McD's? I'm on the Southside, but I'll try to make it sometime. Wish I could join you for MB, but I'll be busy and the bike won't float ... even with the new tires. Ride safe ... Js_B - call me when you're 'feet wet' ... fly safe ... |
