Yeah I haven't even checked to confirm my suspension is accurate yet! Any advice on whether to go to the upper or lower 20Ib category if your in the middle?

I am around 170 pounds these days (I think) but with gear etc... I am sure I get close to 180. 160-180 setup or 180-200 setup? Or just go in the middle of the two numbers?

Nevermind! I was looking at the XB12R, the XB12Ss is less then 170, then 170-190 which should be perfect for me, as a starting position. Front doesnt change from 170-190 to 190-210 so unless I feel I need a change I probably wont play around with that. Rear for 170-190 is the same as 190-210 except that the rear preload gets bumped up one level. That is probably something that I will switch after a good amount (in the thousands) of miles, so I can see how that effects handling. A bit more preload in the back would make the streering a bit quicker, which is hopefully something I could notice pretty easily and decide whether or not a like it.

Ill save changes to front preload and damping/compression all around for when I start riding harder and have more knowledge of the feel of suspension settings.

I eat sleep and drink motorcycles... Its a big part of me and yeah when Im not riding or doing another activity I am most likely online or deep into a book reading about riding, tuning, maintenance... Or on a forum just wasting away the hours chatting about bikes ; ).

I feel your pain. Wen I was a kid (5 yrs old), my dad owned a Suzuki shop. He made sure I was riding a bike before I ever drove a car. Keep riding bro! Enjoy! Right now my scoot is laid up. Doing all the cheap and free stuff. All I can do is "druell" on it right now.........but it will be a little more user friendly when I'm done!

I've slid the front end on this bike 3 times. It's almost as if the front wants to turn faster than the rear, then the rear doesn't catch up.

But, it's only ever happened in really tight left turns. Slides a bit, then regains traction.

It's very unnerving if you're not ready for it.

If the "slide & wobble" only happened in one turn and you were going through it at neutral throttle then perhaps it's not the tire...

Perhaps something on the road?

Deisel, ATF, Power Steering Fluid, Diff Oil, Squirrel, ...

I think it was probably something on the road, possibly combined with the new tires.
