The cherry bombs would be too wide you can only go about 7.5 inches before you hit the kickstand. |

There's not a word of dyno charts in this thread.
Back when the XB first came out, it took a while for aftermarket exhaust to come to market.
One of the first was built by Team Latus.

I think it was an Edlebrock muffler.
It looked just like what y'all are making.
The dyno looks like this.
If you do a search for Latus Exhaust, I'm sure you'll find more info. |

Wow, looking at the chart and happen to have an XB12R, my new muffler is my freshly repainted, with BBQ paint, STOCK MUFFLER.  |

Miko- The dyno runs don't look too bad for the 12. I can deal with a small loss of power, for better sound, and cheep replacement.
I'm also sure, that the glass pack systems can be dyno tuned if need be. I have ecm spy, and have used it for basics like error code, and tps reset.
I hear Fireman Jim runs a Dyno at Infinion just two hours from my house, so I might make new friends too!
The Cheery Bomb glass pack probably wont fit, however this one for just $27.40 delivered from Amazon.com will:

Exhaust would be hung as far forward as possible. Inlet on the left side, exit on the right under the belt tensioner.
Just need a bend, a tip, and a fool proof mounting system. Instant product. |

The reason I am interested in this is that after only 2 1/2 years of normal riding (17k miles), my stock can is completely rusted. I have to remove it, sand or sand blast it, paint, refit. While it's off, i'll be taking real measurements and ordering the dynomax.
Does any one have the price of a replacement stock can? I'm sure it's not under $30. |

Last I saw, stock exhaust runs about $100-ish for a take-off. Personally, I'm keeping my old one as a backup for my SpecOPS (or if I have a need for a quieter pipe). |

Here, I cleaned up Glitch's Latus vs stock dyno. Actually looks like the Latus glass pack made more power under the curve than stock (and in more useful places).

Yeah, straight pipe with small holes drilled in it and wrapped with header tape.
Bump, I'm still researching this topic.
Has anyone actually tried a $25 Cherry Bomb Turbo or Thrush Turbo? I would like to see the dyno results. I'm not convinced that they would be terrible. |

After years of seeing dyno charts, I've yet to see anyone get good results on an XB12.
The XB9 on the other hand, I've seen them get up to 100HP with muffler and tuning.
With the XB12 interactive muffler design, about all you're gonna get from an after market pipe, is sound. |

Sound is good.
Rust is bad.
The stainless Magnaflow's are interesting and may be my second attempt.
Cheery Bomb and Thrush Turbos are cheep, probably first attempt.
Still a fun idea even if I loose 10hp (doubtful, any system can be tuned). |

Anyone tried a Flowmaster yet? They seem to make power for the cars. Maybe I'm wrong but if you keep the inner pipe diameter the same as stock, wouldn't that keep airflow speed up and not lose any power? |
