If there is a hole the air will flow.

looks cool, but i don't think it'd help the scoopyness of that scoop. dunno if it'l hurt it noticeably either. how long did that take?! i guess it's too cold to ride in your neck of GA |

I wouldn't be at all suprised to see the large scoops on both sides of an endurance race bike. I put the big one on two of my XBR's and thought the fans were broken cause they didn't come on any more. But that does look tuff. |

I went to a print shop and had a cutout made half inch center to center of each dot. |

If you are trying to reduce the effectiveness of the scoop, why not just remove it? Not much weight saved by the drilling. |

It is glued and screwed and heat proof. The sheet that i used is for welding. It is fire proof and the glue is heat proof also.I weld for a living 20 + years. |

just would hate to see all that work go whoosh thats all sounds like ya got a winner just hope everyone else who wants to try this which I might be one of makes sure that we do what you did. cause if someone just sprayed glue on it which is flamable and were content with that may or may not have a problem and wardem if the platic which has air being forced through it pulled the plastic sheet (which is on the inside of the scoop) off where is it gonna go but into the motor where the headers and juggs are and the bike would be quite hot. I know Hawk has header wrap but I don't. Now I know what I must do to make it work properly |

"The Buell Race Team dont use it. " Probably because the Buell race team isn't sitting at traffic lights. I believe I remember the reason for the mini-scoop was not actually for "scooping", but for directing airflow while sitting still. Without it, the cooling fan wasn't very effective. Definitely an interesting look! ~SM |
