Hey guys!

Thinking about getting the low suspension for my 03 XB9S.

Anyone know what it will change up as far as my handling is concerned?

I don't want my handling to get whacky on me, but like the idea of flat footing at stops!!

Any info is greatly appreciated!
Also if anyone would like to trade or sell there low suspension.... Let me know.

Thanks!
-Robert

Did you change the seat yet? The SL or SCG seat would help, and its the cheapest route for lowering the bike.

besides lowering your center of gravity even more(good thing!) it wont really MESS up anything. a bit less ground clearance, and hard parts touch down will be a bit sooner but most people on the street would never notice that part. the ride will be a bit stiffer but not unbearable or anything.

i mean, they did come that way from the factory; )

i lowered one of my 9r's for the gf. works awesome.

Very true No Rice!

I have 1125 pegs on her and never scrapped them, but have scrapped the stock pegs before (the ones that had the 1 inch or so drop)

one worry is scrapping something a bit sooner....it seems my damn boot always scraps in a good corner. I keep them tucked in all the way, but need to work on resting just my toes on the pegs in corners......

Think I might try and find the low stuff

Any ideas folks? im kinda cheap....
any traders out there?

Ask around here periodically, you'll find someone willing to swap straight across eventually
(I did and so have others)

Do not forget to get the kickstand (all years)and the lower triple clamp assembly (04+)
when you do the trade.

The only down side I have experienced is a slightly harsher ride due to the shorter travel
in the suspension. Not enough to worry me, but it is a bit different.

XB12`s SCG 04, and up to 09 xb12`s SCG as well...

I now the fork sizes are different with all the 05's and up compared to the 03-04 years.

Not sure I'd want to put the effort into swapping all that too!
Plus I doubt anyone would want the smaller forks on there newer bike.
But if anyone does........ Let me know :-)

If you have an 03 it's all good. All scgs/lows have 41mm forks like your bike does.
You do not need to change triple clamps. All you need is forks, shock, and kickstand
from any year scg/low.

that raises some red flags with me. what about the low suspension on the rear? you did swap that out to i sure hope?!

but i guess i am assuming that you changed to a regular height fork...

No Just went with 09 cg front forks going for the blacked out look. The reason I need to make sure they are straight,

She hit a big pot hole this fall and the bike started pulling to the right, I blamed it on the forks and decided to replace them with the SCG forks. After taking the forks off and the steering head I found that the steering head shaft was bent. This is why I want to ensure the forks are straight before selling them. I don't want to accidentally rip anyone off by selling them bent forks.

Hope this clarifies everything up a little bit.
