I just got my inner airbox painted and its going under a red translucent airbox cover so in preparation for it I need to clean the aibox cover really well. Any of you have any suggestions on what to clean my translucent airbox with? its got a few scuffs on it but nothing major...so anything at all would be great because I really want it to shine when i put the new inner airbox cover on it! Thanks |

Of the stuff I've used, I really like Plexus.. Works great, decent scent and most everyone carries it. |

I use Novus 1 and 2. Works well and it's a local product for me (factory rec. to boot). Marcus |

Plexus, Novus and Harley Gloss are all good. I've used all three on my plastics and received great results. The Harley Gloss doubles as a great helmet cleaner as well. No harsh chemicals. |

To much work keeping translucents nice. Have it cleared and it will be easier. |

Good idea Bads1. Wish I would have thought of that in the beggining. Mine are already (5K miles) scratched and hazy |

I find a good layer of mud, muck, dirty and grime protects the translucent covers well from scratches. .... Cleaning? I leave that to the Jiggly Girls.

Good idea Bads1. Wish I would have thought of that in the beggining. Mine are already (5K miles) scratched and hazy It still can be done. A good sanding and a buffer on it will bring it back. Then have it cleared. |

I thought you guys with the clear plastics liked to use gas to clean your plastics which gives it that custom crackle look. |

Use meguires polish. It's not a wax. It will shine the plastic better than new and remove any blemishes. Make sure to use a microfiber cloth. Speaking of which- My bike is in need of a clean up! (Message edited by xl_cheese on February 27, 2009) |
