Will get the bike soon. What should I know about the valve in the 12's exhaust? Is it ok to run a pipe that does not have the valve, like a Jardine? I'm not looking to get more power, but don't want to lose any, and want a good sound. Thanks! Gary |

I suppose loud pipes can get annoying... maybe I should just keep the stocker. I still think it looks the best. |

I had a race pipe on before. Should be noticeably different in sound. Never heard a D&D in real life, just on youtube. I've always had a thing for loud bikes minus the cruiser/chopper part. |

Look into voodoo (although I just saw they are going out of business for a little over a month for family issues) or drummer. They have a system where you send them your exhaust and they modify it, and paint it etc... Gives you a good sound, lots more torque and power, less weight and maintains stock mounting setup for the pipe and chin spoiler. I think it was voodoo, drummer may be similar but one of them talked about having a pipe with good sound but not loud enough to get you in trouble with the law and one also had a quiter version of one of their pipes. Thats the route I am thinking I am going to take but I have not gotten a buell yet or done more intensive research. I can say I rev'd a stock XB12 a bit and its like a lawn mower, may be better at higher rev's or while moving but still you bought a pushrod v-twin, get the good sound to come along with it! A few minutes on youtube and you wont want that stock pipe... |

Gazoobla... My bike is in Dayton, OH right now. Coming spring break I'll be doing some work and putting the d&d if you would like to hear. I know its a bit of a drive but I thought I would offer. |

Gazoobla - The Special Ops version is a modified stock pipe that retains the valve. It's another good one to consider. |

american sport bike has a exhaust shoot out with dyno runs and sound clips, very informative. |
