My 04 XB12s has a dent in the right side frame/tank from going down on the right side. I would say it is a moderate dent. Couple of questions? Can this be pulled like a car dent and repaired? I have been told it is cast aluminum and will crack if it is pulled on. Is there a fiberglass cover or a cheaper option to cover up the dent? Kinda like the carbon fiber covers I have seen but only cheaper? Any other options other than replacing it? I am thinking I may just fill it with body filler and paint it but am worried about vibrations causing the repair to fail. Thanks, R71 | ||

Your best bet is toe use a frame puck and hope it covers the dent. If not, body filler is the next best thing. Got any pics? | ||

i have repaired many of the buell frames. you can cut a hole in the back side and knock the dent out. but you need to be able to weld aluminum. do not use body filler over a 1/8 inch thick, it will not hold up. if you can get the frame to me, i could repair it. if you are interested in this just send me a pm. thanks shawn | ||

All older bikes without the frame pucks should get them. they saved my 08 XB a few dents a few times | ||

The right side was dented and scrped pretty badly but it looks good as new now, the light is reflecting off of the frame weird but it looks nice. Takes a little bit of time to actually work the putty and get it contoured right but it does the trick. Jimmy | ||

That don't look so bad. I wouldn't be suprised at all if a puck covered the whole dent. If it doesn't +1 on the Devcon aluminum epoxy. When I did mine I removed the paint and put some nice deep scratches with a screwdriver in the frame for the Devcon to grab on to. | ||

My frame dented through the puck...hit a cinder block wall.The blocks were at the right level to put the corner of the blocks into the right puck, and I was going fast enough to knock the wall caps off...I just replaced the puck....no more dent  | ||

Just clean it up and install a set of frame pucks, it will look like new. |
