On the XB12SS frame you can put a Uly tail section on- on the XB9, it won't work.

My girl puts one hand on the air box cover "tank", and one around me. Keeps herself from sliding forward and back off. I'm 185, she's 110. I have a city x with the select seat. We do several hrs of riding together; Just fine. In fact, I bought her a new helmet for V-day. Last one wasn't a full face, and the new one is. She lost a few sunglasses last season... Hope this will make the riding we share even more enjoyable.

My wife (5'2", 100 pounds) asked me (5'11" 180 pounds) to ride on the back of her bike so she could practice having someone heavier than her ride with her (my sister). Using the technique that Ekass13 described, but with both hands on the airbox, I didn't move around or slide into her. I agree with Ekass-no problem riding 2-up.

My wife is tiny, right around a buck, I'm 225. She won't ride 2up on the CityX, something about an iron maxi pad for a pillion?

Other ladies have ridden on the pillion (though not with me of course) and they didn't have any problem at all with a 5 mile ride. After 10 they're ready to walk.

I am rebuilding the seat to include padding and plan to put a little stiffer, wider and thicker foam in both the pillion and saddle. This might help but 'till then it's really a 1up bike.

Make that a 1up bike if you care about the passenger, very serviceable for 1 + curb monkey.

I had a fatboy a long time ago the seat put the passenger a little higher than me I had the wife on the back zoomed by a bent street sign missed me bye a good 2" her maybe a credit cad could of fit in between her and the sign after nearly choking the shyt out of me I have never had to worry about riding her anymore.
Further more next time I bend a street sign I will make sure to measure first

Ann didn't care for the seat on the Lightning. Not because she didn't fit, but because it looked too short.
I now have an XBR tail.
