I felt this issue was a different enough subject to start a new thread. As some of you know I was contemplating a CityX purchase. I test drove an 05 CityX yesterday. My assessment was as follows: 1) I love the chassis and the suspension (the dealer set it up for my weight). It simply had a tight and solid feel better than any of the bikes in my stable. 2) The motor is different than what I'm used to, but I could get used to it. She doesn't accelerate well nor have impressive top gear roll-ons, but I knew that going in. The motor was neither a negative nor a positive. 3) The vibration is what got to me, especially when just traveling around below 4K rpm (e.g. top gear on the highway). This was most noticeable on my left foot. Now 34 years of diabetes and the resulting neuropathy have made my feet oversensitive to vibration, but my other bikes don't put my feet asleep, but this one was on the verge of doing so, especially the left foot. I'm not sure I can put up with that over a whole day. What about the XB12? I would suspect the feel is similar, but for those that have tried both, is that really true? The vibration is a different character, thats for sure. Worth getting a datapoint. The vibes never bothered me... the seat is the first to take it's toll on a long day... the Uly / XT would be a much better "all day" bike. |

I truely never noticed vibration in my pegs, doesn't mean it isn't there. If you like the bike, try to ride a different one, with the stock pegs. Maybe that 1 in. drop makes a difference. |

My '06 Uly is starting to vibrate through the pegs again. It seems like every 8,500 miles or so it has needed a front engine isolator. When it starts going bad I feel the vibes first in the pegs, then in the bars, and finally the seat. This never happened on the '05 City-X that I bought new and rode 13,500 miles. I found that both engines are similar in vibrations throughout the range, but the 12 shows its stroke below 2800 rpm. |

I recently came off my 3rd Harley, an 03 Road King. The 09 XT does not vibrate. |
