I had to wait a couple of months for good garage weather and when I also had some extra play time. But two hours of wrenching and my '08 XB12Ss now runs like a champ, no stalling, no surging, no coughing. The cure, a "Drummer SS" muffler! Seat of my pants tell me that there is a little less power off idle, but the power is very linear and builds up fast. My Buell is now extremely traffic friendly where before it would have a fit. Also seems to pull much better from a lower rpm than it did before. So far I have only driven it around town, not on the freeway, not on my favorite back roads, and not over 4,000 rpm. I got it because I wanted to improve drivability and lighten it up a bit. After some 40 miles of town and country I am not disappointed. The "computer" dialed right in and it ran better than it ever has, and right out of the driveway too. Muffler has a nice deep sound, just loud enough to make you feel that you are riding a real motorcycle, but not so loud that it will attract the cops. Before my neighbors thought that I rode a lawn mower to work, now the know better. That SS Drummer was worth every penny to me. |

Good to hear. I too have an '08 and a Drummer is in my future as well. |
