Help please? Fitted the Drummer to my XB12R, so I thaught I'd go for a long blap down to to the coast today to see how it's all going, and it rained! On the way back it was still raining, so to relieve my frustrations I did 120 down a long strait. The bike coughed and eventialy compleatly conked out on the front cylinder. So running on one, I coaxed it through the worst of the downpore and on to dryer roads. Sure enough the front spluttered back to life, but as soon as I gave it some throttle it would cut out again . Well I'd hoped that some dry tarmac would put an end to all that but after an houre of dry riding, although the symptoms changed a bit, there was still a problem. Basicly there is no way it will idle on both cylinders. But keep the revs up above 3000 and reluctantly she splutters back to life and will do pritty much what you want except as I said idle, or excelerate hard without poping and crackeling. And just to put the cherry on the iceing, take it up to above a ton and bingo, front cylender cuts out and needs recoaxing back to life again at between 3 to 5 RPM. Any ideas what' going on?

Sounds like the TPS isn't set right. When I put my Drummer on my bike and started it just to see what it sounded like it fouled out the front plug after a couple of starts. Now that the tps is set its fine.Or you may have some water in a plug boot possibly.

gruffs you've got the race ecm and all that on right. if so what BadS1 said abput the tps. but also. if it was raining real hard and you were going that fast maybe some water did get up in there.

also after you put the pipe on did you ride it for about 10 miles or so at a constant 3.8k or so just to get the ecm to learn what it needs to do.

also make sure your plug wires are on good...it sounds alil like ign.

keep us informed. If the race ecm was installed at the same time you put the pipe on than it could be a bad setting on the ecm.
