Here is my xb9s set up for winter riding. I did it in december. Heated grips $25. Handguards from a badwebber. Ceebailey screen clear and painted yellow to match body. My summer color is arctic white (see profile) my winter color is arctic yellow snow. I emailed cebailey and told them they would sell more screens if they had the clear ones posted on their website. I've ridden in the 10's and 20's w/o trouble. The only issue is dirt tracking around the corners.

Gotta love that sand!

How do you like your windshield?
I was thinking of getting one.

I'm 5'11" and looking for something that will get the wind up and over me better.

Mark

Mark,

Re the windshield, the pre-drilled holes were off. I had to oval them with a dremmel bit in a air grinder. I painted the back w/ Krylon (sp?) that matches the yellow. Note I also used Krylon white for the white windscreen on my summer version (done before the white parts came out). I've noticed that the yellow is rubbing off in four parts where there is contact with the instrument cluster. So I think I need to put some foam or something to stop the rubbing. I'm 6'2" and with the stock windscreen the air was hitting me in the neck and pushing under my helmet. I typically push my chin in like a boxer in the cold or on the highway. With the windshield I don't need to do this. It take the wind off my chest and neck. I've had it up to 90 mph without any issues. Also, I think I might go with longer fasteners when I put it on next winter. The windshield comes with metal washers that reduce the amount of thread contact. It isn't a problem but I might do it anyway.

They are call poly something. They go inside the bar. They cost about $25 or $30. I order motorcycle and they came with instructions for a snowmobile. Other people talk about them on this site. Sorry I just forgot the name. I mounted the switch near the right hand turn signal. SOmeone else on this site did the same thing. I also tapped into a wire that provides power only when the bike is running. It is a wire used on euro models. Again, something I picked up on this site somewhere.
