a rookie Q: Does the race muffler have any difference between a gutted stock muffler.... special material-wise, specific baffling, or air passages??? a good Q: and concerning race vs aftermarket.... which aftermarket-cans are better than the race ??? if so, besides micron |

for the second question you need to define "better". The shootout results on the American Sport Bike website might be of some help. The race muffler is not the same as a gutted stock muffler. The baffling arrangement and lack of valve in the XB12 version are some of, but not all of, the differences. |

yeah, im going to have to print out that report from American Sport Bike.... .... special material-wise, specific baffling, or air passages??? so is the race muffler made with a thicker/stronger matieral and does have baffling and such? .... because I have read/heard that the stock-gutted-muffler sounds tinn-canny, so im guessing that the race muffler has reenforcement that is also used for baffling |

Sorry but the Drummer doesn't sound Tin-canny at all. I have both on separate bikes. They both make a different sound but not Tin-canny. Race pipe is a great top end pipe. Drummer does it all.... just a bit better. |

There is no tin in the sound of a Drummer. It is a deep resonant noise. |
