ski: plenty buells on the road here. dont beleive we have a brag here yet. i gather up a group and run around the state pretty often. working on a ride calendar presently. also coordinate some rodeo games here in homer. we had 2 bike rodeos here last summer. lots of fun. mostly harleys, some sportbikes, and assorted 'cruisers' also had a big dual sport at last event. he did pretty well. not sure yet if i will compete on the buell, or the sportster. buell seems real stable, but i need to get a few thousand more miles on it before i will be comfortable throwing it around. sportster is damn hard to beat in a rodeo. how much time will you have on your feb ak trip? will you have wheels? keep me posted on your plans. also try to check out wasilla... M1 's dad sounded like he had a nice castle for sale. not a bad area to make a family. wasilla economy is roaring. later, dean |

Just washed my 12r for the weekend. My clutch cable has worn through! Right where it rubs against the right upper fork... What the F*@#?!... My servicing dealership pisses me off too. Called them, "Bring it in Tuesday and will see if it's gonna be a warranty issue" Dude.... |

Az, It should be a warranty issue, My oil lines in front rubbed together and they replaced those under warranty. 22129 miles and still loving it!!!!!! Dave, I'm getting closer.

9K miles in 5 months, I should catch most of you guys soon. No problems to report, only not being able to ride it more on the weekends in California, maybe I will be the 1st to 40K. The 80 mile daily freeway commute really racks the miles up. |

Kaese, I do 122-124 a day, and about 160-220 on Sunday. Saturday's are normally my scheduled maintenance/cleaning days. I've had mine since April 11th 2003 so just over nine months now. Your going to need to step it up a notch if your going to try and pass meI ride rain or shine, hot or cold. Next month makes 2 years straight commuting on 2 wheels and have only taken the car about 7 days to work due to having a head cold or have to transport a lot of stuff. Good Luck & Keep the rubber side down

Dean, doesn't look like I'll be coming up to Alaska now. Just found out I might have to go over to the sand to play for a few months. So the wife is thinking of buying in Az again (to be close to family). After I retire and get MMI out of the way then Alaska would be the place of choice. So I'd say within 5 years we should be able to hook up and have that burger. "Women, I tell ya"................... |

Xb9rski, I was wondering when you were going to play in the sand. Kind of hard to rack miles there. I spent some time in Adak, AK. I could never see what anyone saw in Alaska. After that tour, it was warm weather for me. Florida and California (where I now reside). I'm sure you will agree that California is the best riding weather, not even mentioning the roads. edited by kaese on January 26, 2004 |

I totally agree with you Kaese, Cali has some Awesome roads, AZ is pretty Bad ARS too though. I know You'll probley catch me if I have to take a few months off, but I still have about 8 months to rack up another 20k edited by xb9rski on January 27, 2004 |

XB9rski, maybe you should consider riding at lunch time to ensure you are the mileage king! |

I've thought about that, but with the way I'm having to perform my scheduled maintenance right now, that would up the schedule to about twice a month vise the once a month that I'm doing now. Wife is already having a Sh&t Fit about once a month. Besides if I get on my bike at lunch time, I'm not coming back to work.......LOL |
