Does anyone else here have an 03 xb9r with a yellow rear spring? from my understanding the yellow springs are the "low". But was this the case in 03 also? My bike has a yellow spring, I bought it with 900 miles on it and didn't think anything of it till now. |

It'd be worth your while IMO to have those other components checked to make sure the forks had been changed out to match. Probably have... |

midknyte, that is what I am worried about. How can I check to see if the forks were changed? |

Part numbers should be stamped on them somewhere. |

from trying to search, I have read 03 and 04's had 41mm forks. All low forks (cg) are 41mm. so if this is true does that mean to change an 03 to a lower you would just change the rear shock? or am all all wrong on this? |

please measure the distance between the two red lines in my pic. the forks on the low version have less travel. and that distance will be less than that of the fork in the pic. brian |

and 41 mm is the diameter of the forks. |

I measured from those red lines (that is counting the rubber seal that is about 1cm) and got about 5 1/4 inches. give or take a hair. |

it would be cheaper than switching out the forks. unless there is a hight issue. ie... you are on the short side. brian |

I had to buy the yellow spring from the XBSL suspension to lower my bike. The blue comes stock on the Firebolts. I have an 03 XB9R and had to get the complete suspension off a Lighning Low (XBSL) because I'm 5'5''. |

O3worc9r: I just put a deposit on a 03 9XB and it has 3500 original miles. It has the blue spring shock set-up. I'm on my tippy toes and want to lower it some. I would like to swap my blue shock set-up for your yellow one if that's agreeable with you. |

If this happened about 2 days earlier I would have said yes. I have just made other arrangements for a shock. I just listed my low shock on ebay. |
