Took the XB and the RSVR to Jennings today... the weather was brilliant!
The XB will be returning to the street, and the RSVR will become the dedicated track bike... it's absolutely fantastic in that role (Ohlins really makes a HUGE a difference). |

I'm planning on doing a Novice Day either this month or next. I think that will be a good way to get a lot of track time and advice without worrying about getting run over by the more "experienced" novice riders that are about to bump up to intermediate. |

There's a small fee at the gate like $5 or $10. |

It's $5 to enter the track, and they've got a concession stand, track shop, and parts vendor. There's only one bleacher (by turn one) so make sure you bring a chair and sunshade (if you drive there). The novice group is an excellent way to get a comfort level for the track. They have instructors circulating during each session, and classroom time in between each session also- it's like getting one-on-one training for $110 (on Mondays). The only limitation for novices is passing is restricted to between turns one and three, and fourteen and one (front straight). Truthfully though, for your first couple of track days you shouldn't be concerned with passing (or being passed)- check the ego at the door 'cause here you find out quickly how much you really don't know. Jennings is a tight, technical road course that rewards smoothness and handling. Both the Buell and Aprilia are tailor made for this track because finesse wins over horsepower here every time. You should come check it out- you will find yourself addicted. |

Dang it RedBuell, we gotta get our track days on the same date!!! My next outting will be Friday Feb 20, in support of BuellGator during the novice only day (already full). Saturday Feb 21, I'll be with the race bike at G-ville H-D/ Buell as they celebrate 16 yrs!! Sunday Feb 22, I'll be back at Jennings riding and practicing for the upcoming race season!! As has already been posted, it's $5 per day to get in and watch. Mm128, FYI I sent you a pm ref the track day on the 22nd. The novice class is a great start and Jennings is constantly upgrading how they handle the novice class! |
