What led to the lock up? I think I will try and rebuild mine when it's done, but i don't know the first thing about rebuilding engines. |

Or just get the rear pulley from a 12... The '06 and '07 bikes had the same sensors etc so any 12 from '04-07 should be a straight swap yes? I'd think even an '08/09 would be too as long as you got the ECM right? |

Lonexb is correct. The mount is different for the swingarm. Look for a 03-05 engine for less mounting problems. |

If you're interested in selling your busted motor - PM me. Not saying it's a for sure thing since shipping might kill the deal but it never hurts to ask. |

Bads1, Are you guys saying a 06 or 07 does not have the same swing arm motor mounts as 05 and down? If so thats a new one on me.... |

I thought they were different behind the mount but the mount is the same... I've been wrong before . |

I just remember someone on the board here that did the swap. It wasn't cut and dry If I remember right. |

The '06+ swingarms bolt right up to the 05 and earlier bikes. The mount is the same. The oil lines are a bit different however. |

Interesting Steve, YEah I never heard there was any difference, only for as you say the oil lines wd. be different since the different lay outs of the ins and outs /vent lines... So perhaps that is As was mentioned, Not being cut and dry... |

I`m in the middle of this right now. I have an `04 xb9 and put in an `07 xb12. The oil lines were about the only issue I had, but was quickly and easily modified. The oil lines from the 12 will work ,except for the one going to the cam cover side on the right side. The 12 oil line went to the cover from the top and the 9 line comes up from the bottom. All you need to do is change the fitting on your new 12 engine with the old fitting and oil line from the 9and run that one line the same as it was on the 9. it sounds complicated all typed out but was quite easy. I`ll try to post pictures later if you want. |

I found it on line at a motorcycle salvage yard. My `04 Xb9 had 50000 kms on it when it died and was going to cost over $4000.00 to fix! My new to me `07 XB12 engine only has 8000 kms and only cost $2000.00, so the decision to swap was pretty easy ! |
