Charge or replace Buell battery first. Run bike if it will. Check engine light should turn off if running in a few minutes. Error codes will clear themselves if not persistent. |

My bike was acting up like that. Turned out the battery was low and the plugs were fouled. |

I did the same thing the other day. In winter Im in a hurry to get off the bike and with big thick gloves on its easy to just turn it too far as Im dashing for the warm indoors- PITA- stupid design. $40 battery charger the best investmnet i made. A nearly dead battery has the bike idling OK but struggling the faster you go. Charge it up and no problem. |

after seeing that a new one cost $100 i got a battery tender from a friend. 11hrs and still charging. hope it will work. I am going to change the plugs also. I have not done that in 5800 miles and i like to do all my own maintenance. |

A regular battery tender won't resurrect from the dead - you need a tender "plus" model for that. |

And I don't know if I would hold my breath waiting for the tender plus to be able to unbreak a dead battery... |

My tender/charger pushed enough juice into my dead battery (same story--left the lights on all day) to be usable again. It isn't good as new, but it's good enough that I didn't have to go out and buy a new battery right away. |

It is the tender JR. 14 hrs and still not charged so i am thinking it is a no go. ill go pick p a better charger or try to find a $20 battery for now. dont want to spend $100 just yet. i did not volt test it but the head light was dimly flickering and the starter would not even kick over. when it was hooked to the truck the starter just clicked on and off fast. would not stay engaged. |

The best batteries are $350 Throw it on a real charger for a bit then try it. |

One warning about cheap batteries is that they can physically break (had one do it on my KLR-250). When they do this, they drool battery acid everywhere. I shudder to think about the damage that could do to a bike... |

Well, i let the Trickel charger sit for 18hrs and it worked. The starter now kicks over better then it did for the last few months. Just glad i did not fry anything. |
