Clarence: Please buy the service manual and read it. I do the same thing with airplanes and motorcycles. I like to read the entire manual prior to operating so that I understand the features, functions and my expectations of the machine are reasonable. The Buell service manual is fairly pricey in the world of scooter cycling and not until you have it in hand and examine it to you realize how much more comprehensive it is and what a wonderful value it is. RTFB and you can not do this until you BTFB. Read The Fooking Book. Buy The Fooking Book. I have ordered a Black 12 S and in that order is a parts books and service manual along with several accessories.Most companies give you extended warranty on accesories if ordered and fitted at delivery.A great piece of advice .Buy the book.Enjoy the cycle I know I will. | ||

I would have had a lot of trouble just removing the front wheel without it...let alone rear wheel, muffler, exhaust actuator (where is it? where's the ecm? where's the fuel pump, horn, ignition coil?) How do I check the oil, change the oil, how much and what type oil, where's the drain plug, when and how do I replace the spark plugs, how do I set up the suspension, where do I adjust it, how do I check the primary chain, what maintenance does the belt need? yep, worth every cent! | ||

I made sure one was included with my bike. I read it before I put more than 100 miles on and have read through it again since (1100 miles now). STRONGLY recommend it. VERY well done, well written, many very clear pictures and seems to cover everything from beep codes to changing crank bearings to headlights to a complete diagram of exactly how the transmission works and even how to PROPERLY (Did I mention PROPERLY) change the rear tyre and belt. Anyway, it's worth more than they charge IMO, and I have the books (not factory, but Haynes AND Chiltons) for a 72 Mach-1, a 92 GMC Sonoma GT and an '82 Honda CB750F-SS. Better than all of them. I suppose I would have preferred a ring binder but It looks as if it will last. | ||
