Hey all, I finally ran into some other Buell riders in my area. After riding some of the twisties around here, I have come to the conclusion that this bike Kicks Ass. God i love this machine. I am no racer, but this bike inspires confidence in every situation. In a nice tight turn, if you feel you are going a hair wide, just ease off the throttle a little and when you get to the apex of the turn roll it on with smooth authority. I can't wait for my first track day. |

there's an organized riders group around your area, Larry is also apart of our group (ASR).. but he's located in your area, his profile has most of the good groups for you dude Larry's profile http://www.meetup.com/nakedbikers/members/5524872/ ===edit oh yeah: its free, fun, and all that good stuff Go the speed limit on roads you have never been on, is the best advice I can give you ~be safe, dont try to prove yourself, many that do eat it. Hey Thatman, how's it running? Sounds like you aren't having any problems. Maybe this is a sign that Buell finally figured out what they did wrong on the '08 models...? ~SM |

Thanks for the input guys. I will prolly be rollin on a scg later this summer! Any of you guys have the translucent tank? Are these hard to keep from scratching? I love the cherry bomb color. The blue one I looked at at the HD shop was new but all swirled up on the tank. Im assuming just a good poly/plexy cleaner is the key |

I'm in love with my 03 9R, LaShonda. I didn't even testride a Buell before I bought one. I knew I would love it and I do! Screw topend, i can get to 120 in a flash, and sound better than any weedwacker Jap bike out there to. |

"swordsman" This bike only has 1500 miles on it but so far the only problems I have with it is the fuel mileage isn't what I would have expected. I can only hope it gets better with more miles. It likes to cough if you give it too much throttle off the line but once your wrist finds that sweet spot it's all grins. Under hard acceleration the front gets very light, meaning if you are not careful you will be on one wheel. I ride with an 07, 08 and they have after market exhaust, this bike has no problem keeping up with them, and runs just as good as theirs. The dealership here set up the suspension for me but I stiffened up the front end a little bit. Can't say anything on the heat issues yet except my fan runs more that my buddies bikes. All in all I am very satisfied with this bike. |

Well, at only 1500 miles, your MPG is bound to increase. And the cooling fan will probably run less as the parts break in and the internal friction is reduced. Glad you're enjoying it! Now if only the weather would cooperate around here so I could ride....! I don't think we've had 2 dry days in a row for the past 3 weeks! ~SM |

As far as gas mileage goes, its not by any means a "Commuter" bike. It was meant to go fast and handle well, like a Mustang GT or a GTO. Neither get good gas mileage but screw it, gas is cheap again. |

LOL, well, for the record, my Ss gets 53 mpg consistently, so it makes a darn good commuter. And, by the same token, my Mustang GT gets 26 mpg, which ain't half bad. ~SM |

About the Buell cornering and top speed, here is what I say, when someone passes me on a corner doing 135 mph, then I'll look at another bike. |

I'm sure the mileage will get better, not even worried about that. I just love to ride this bike. i am 44 years old and i feel like a kid again. What makes it even better is that I am not the loan Buell around town. so much more fun riding with good friends. Yea, the bike has quirks, but isn't that what makes it unique? |

*I'm in love with a stripper!* Interesting. I'm in love with my wife, her sister, my admin officer, a stripper with awesome boob tattoos, and my secretary! And my XB12Ss...I'd leave all of them in a flash for the XB |
