OK Buell folks, here's the latest articles of interest from TrackdayMag.com. Part 2 of the Red White and Buell racebike project article is now published. See http://www.trackdaymag.com/Article.aspx?id=3062 We also did a review of Dark Horse axle Sliders for Buells. See http://www.trackdaymag.com/Article.aspx?id=2988 An article which will stir the interest of any XB rider is our installation on the very tasty Catalyst Racing Composites XBRR racing bodywork. As Paris Hilton would say, "That's hot." See http://www.trackdaymag.com/Article.aspx?id=2990 Enjoy, and thanks! |

I like those sliders but will probably will buy the cheap set. I just plan on tearing them up. There is Sato, LSL, R&G, and Dark Horse Moto. There aren't many choices available. They are all about the same price. The real benefit of the Dark Horse Moto composite sliders is that if you do "tear them up", you just get a replacement set of Delrin buttons and Bob's your uncle. You can make some home made variety, but their efficacy is in question. You get what you pay for. No one who has actually use the Dark Horse Moto sliders has complained that they overpaid for the protection they provided. |

Ourdee might have meant the least expensive offering from Dark Horse. The set we reviewed has aluminum mounts with replaceable Delrin sliders and is their top of the line. Dark Horse's least expensive set is just Delrin and doesn't offer rearstand bobbins but will still protect the bike. |

Great articles. I really enjoyed reading them. I will be paying attention to your mods. It will help me set up my bike. I was thinking about getting offset triple trees from JET racing ( a board sponsor) and a Penske triple shock.... I've noticed that during trackdays my XB turns in to easy but mid corner the feel is vague and exiting it goes wide. I purchased a Traxxion Dynamics suspension video and it explained in detail why my bike is reacting the way it does. If I may ask, what is your plan for the rest of the suspension( trees, shock, optimum geometry)? I saw the AKs, sweet!!! I doesn't look like the recession is affecting you guys!!! |

We have a Penske Triple on order and are hoping it arrives before our Jennings test. We didn't have plans for different trees but will be cutting the handlebar mounts off our stock Firebolt upper tree so we can run Woodcraft clip-ons. The geometry is something we'll probably have to play with. We'll start with stock settings and go from there to get the machine to Rob's liking. I replaced the intake manifold gaskets today. Just finished a few minutes ago. Time for several stiff drinks. Lordy.... |

Techspec makes a pad for the XB: http://www.techspec-usa.com/products/gs_buell.html I have the Snakeskin on my SV and it's AWESOME. I like it more than stompgrip. They also have incredibly good customer service. |
