What would be the best stuff to remove the remains of the frame puck glue?

Not to jack this thread but my bike currently doesnt have frame pucks. I am going to install them once it gets warmer around here, do you guys use just the sticky backing that comes on it or anything else to glue it on to the frame?

Matt,

I just did mine - used the primer that came with them and then just peel-and-stick.

It's really a no-brainer.

Try a dry fit first before you peel off the backing - you'll see it'll be easy.

after you soak it with wd-40 or goo gone Use a blow dryer on the glue to heat it up. That should help get most of it. Then repeat 'till it's gone.

When you get that new one they come with a cleaner pad, use it. In the winter use a heat gun/hair dryer to heat both the pucks adhesive side and the tank where it will be going. It is best to dry fit it before removing the backing to make sure all is right on fittment, lightly mark the corner locations with some thing that will come off easily. When you install, it is one shot, and then press all around as hard as possible making sure you can see that the adhesive is well stuck to the tank before letting it all cool off. Don't over apply heat as it can screw up the surfaces. Just warm enough that you can still touch it.

So you should drill pilot holes first, right?

It looks like you got most of the foam adhesive backing off. That makes removing the adhesive real easy.

Just use some WD-40 or similar penetrating oil. Just did both of mine a couple weeks ago. I'm planning to mark the location w/ masking tape when I apply the new ones.

"It looks like you got most of the foam adhesive backing off".

The impact to the ground took that all for me. I haven't touched that area yet. Thanks for the reply's
