Another vote for riding it, a lot. FWIW, when I got my '08TT, I had to push to get it to 1k mi for the initial service, given our short riding season. Then rode it from Pr Rupert B.C. to the Laguna GP and back. In heavy rain from time to time. Only problem was my not stopping for gas when I should have. I did learn that I could go 180mi on one tank! As has been posted before, judging the reliability of Buells by reading posts here is like determining the health of a city population by sitting in the waiting room of a doctors office. I love mine, and I'm sure you will love/enjoy yours too. Welcome to you, Dave |

I have a '07 STT and I can tell you that in 10,000+ miles I have had a bad brake light switch and a blow head light bulb, 6 oil changes, two rear and one front tires AND a whole lots of fun and grins. I look after it and ride the snot out of it. The way I see it is "if it break, hope your close to home" BTW I had a Honda, blew a spark plug out. A Yamaha (many MANY years ago) that use to eat clutches all the time. Both were fun as is the Buell. |

03 XB9R with 28,000 on it (2,000 are mine), but have all the records. It hasn't been babied, but has been maintained well. I love it! SNOT! |

I ride my Blast in rain, sleet, cold, heat almost every day. I've had minor issues on it, all of which easily fixed by me (a mechanical 'tard) with help from folks on this website. It's been as reliable as my Sportster or my Gold Wing and cheaper to fix. |

Rainman - you get "rain, sleet, cold, heat almost every day"? I would move. |

Id like to point out that there are a lot of members on Badweb. People are only going to post up problems for the most part. I think it would be weird if people just kept posting threads stating, "nothings wrong, just felt like letting everyone know." That would be kind of annoying too. One reason Badweb is great is there are so many people eager to help if someone is down. Oh yea, ride the snot out of it! |

Well I for one post the, "not so good news", in an effort to learn from other rider's experiences. I have had a number of issues with my '08 XB12R. Compared to my first 4 bikes, 3 of them HD's, this one has been the worst by far. Maybe I just got the bad luck draw? I keep reading people posting 180 miles/tank while I get 33 - 38MPG consistently. Loss of power while making slow speed turns at traffic lights has had my heart in my throat more times than I care to recall. However, what was just a disappointment is now a QUEST, to make it right! So, if anyone has ANY info that may help I do appreciate it! It is at the dealer as we speak for what may be a warped rotor, ECM check and why my clutch cable is still melting after having the new cable keeper recall performed. Thanx! Hey, Arctic Firebolt, just noticed that's the second thread you've asked for advice in. Why not start your own thread about the loss of power in turns? Give us a bit more info and see what happens. Not meaning to sound rude. |

No offense taken. Constructive criticism is always welcome. I have started threads in the past perhaps you are correct and I should. It's just that I think all of the problems are related to the DDFI-3 and there are so many out there. |
