This month’s tech article is posted at www.roadracinghelp.com

We are focusing this month on what do the better technicians do when they build your forks? We are not just talking about the components, but more importantly the intangible items. I have included video in this months article to show and talk about “pushing on a fork”.

Thanks,
Marcus

excellent website Marcus! I read every page and watched the video's.

I learned a WHOLE LOT!

While reading the material I realized most of are concerned with making our ENGINES faster, often oversighting the needs of the suspension (myself included). Maybe if more focus in centered on the suspension, we might not need all the engine goodies...?

I dunno. Just a thought I had.

Thanks for making this available for us.

Jody

You've hit the nail on the head. While straight line speed is important, corner speed is where most races are won and lost.

Marcus tuned my stock XB9 suspension this past summer. I gained a 7 second lap time improvement!! Thats something like a 6% increase in my speed. There is nothing you can buy for a motor that makes you go that much faster. As Marcus has posted elsewhere, we will be upgrading my whole suspension in the next couple of weeks and then out on the track in January to set it up. The results will be published on the same web site www.roadracinghelp.com Im anticipating a similar improvement. Now all I have to do is keep my waistline down over the hoildays so I can zip into my leathers in a couple of weeks!!!

Mark

Mark, you're gonna kick some butt this coming year with your new setup and the help from Marcus. Should be a lot of fun to hear your exploits and to see the disappointment from the other racers as they get whooped on by a Buell!!!

Curiosity question, is this your first Buell and if so, what made you get it?

Here is the squid in me. Yes, suspension makes you go fast, but at the least, get a slip on pipe first. Something does not feel right when I am racing a bike that doesn't sound like it is being used in anger :D
