I know there are many threads talking about the best replacement mirrors for an 03-ish XB9R and that you cant see with the stock ones.
The bike was designed, tested, and released with the stock ones. With Buells overall thoughtful design, I have a hard time believing they were meant to be "useless" as I have heard them called many times.
Is my seating position incorrect per original design intent? Or what gives?

I wouldn't mind trying out the shorter stock mirrors. I can't see much with my longer mirrors, and the shorter ones would make lane splitting a little easier.

I'm gonna go for the Speedzilla 1125R clones. For $170 there much cheaper than the Rizomas. And not everything on the bike was well though of, most of it was, some things weren't. Doesn't mean its not the best motorcycle ever though!

I replaced the stock mirrors on my '03 XB9R with the longer later mirrors. It made a big difference, and now I can see past my elbows.

fwiw, my stock mirrors are not a problem above 2500rpm. I'm satisfied.

I had the longer ones on when I bought it. With no jacket on I caught a little of my elbows but could see fine. If I rode with a jacket I couldn't see jack... I replaced them with bar ends and I love um...

Macon, the one thing I really didn't like about the stock and the longer ones is that the front profile is just too big to, too bloated. The Jap bikes seem to have a more refined and sleeker front end. I'm big on asthetics. I turn my head more than using my mirrors so visibility isn't my top goal. Of course when i get around this spring to repairing my fairing, new paint/wheels/screen and blackout, I'll be posting all pics here with (hopefully) the Speedzillas. If I win the lottery, Rizomas.

The short ones suck but I use them anyway. All I have to do is move my elbow out and I see right under my armpit. Nice.

The position of the stock mirrors on my '07 XB12R is OK.

It's the vibration especially at night when the lights all merge into a blurred image that I'd like to improve.
