What would be the best way to re-finish the primary and gear covers? I would like to make these parts black like the 9s. |

I talked to a parts guy today at the local HD boutique and he told me the primary and gear covers on the 9S and 12S are not compatible. Could Bubba or Dave confirm this? |

Hard luck: i am certain that there was not a redesign of the primary cover or inspection cover on the XB12. the parts will interchange. |

The maroons, Brian, are looking at the different part numbers and not actually looking at the parts. The numbers would be different since one is black and one is magnesium colored. Hardluck you could always just order the "wrinkle black" from Eastwood company and do it yourself. |

See that is a big difference, you guys enjoy the bikes you work on and sell parts for. As has been pointed out we are the red-headed step children. We don't buy the chrome or the mega dollar bikes so we get the poor treatment. A friend of mine that has a sportster runs into the same treatment often enough. |
