Looking for info on mounting panniers like Jesse's or Hepcos on my XT. Have looked on their sites, but nothing about Buells is available. Waiting to hear back from them, but, in the meantime, has anyone here done that conversion from stock bags? |

The Hepco Becker mounts for the standard Uly bags will also accept the Hepco Becker aluminum panniers. If you want Jesse bags, then write to Al Jesse. His site proclaims they're available for ALL Adventure Touring bikes, but somehow he missed the Ulysses. |

Buell has a deal with Hepco. The only way to get a Hepco mount for a Uly is to buy the Buell mounts. Once the mounts are on the bike any Hepco bag will mount right up to them as all Hepco's bags use the same mounting system. I have been told this by Hepco, a Hepco dealer, and Buell. |

Thanks for the info. Jesse says the Buell bags may be available in the future. I don't suppose the Buell mounts for the stock bags are the same for the Hepco's???? |

Brian, You were already told that the Buell mounts will accept the aluminum Hepco Becker bags. See Skinstain's response just before your last post. |

Easy now boys, play nice. I can be a bit more clear on my findings. I had ordered a 2009 Uly X with the (Buell labeled) black Outdoorsman side and top hard bags(made by Hepco&becker). After that, I had the oportunity to see Court's Uly with the same (Buell labeled) black Outdoorsman H&B hard bags in person. At this point I canceled the order for the (Buell labeled) H&B Outdoorsman bags as I wanted larger bags for a big trip I plan on taking. So I went on the Hepco & Becker website and found some bags that seemed like they would suit my needs. I then went to the model compatibility section. No mention of mounts or brackets for a Buell. Hmmm ? Now I "know" that H&B makes bags that mount to the Ulysses because they are on the Buell website and I have seen Courts. I email H&B with my delima and they inform me that "at this time we do not have any Buell mounting hardware available". Hmmm ? I go on the internets and find a local H&B dealer and call him on the phone. He tells me that there is no problem, all of the H&B bags will mount right up to a Ulysses using the Buell mounts as all of the H&B bags mount the same. The only hitch is...you have to buy the mounts from Buell as they have some sort of a deal with H&B. Cool, I call the dealer and have him order me the mounts (only) for the two side and one top Buell Outdoorsman bags. The dealer calls me and informs me that I can only order the mounts for the side cases by themselves, for the top mount I need to order the bag and the mount as the mount is not available seperately ??? I tell the dealer that what he is telling me is redicoulous. It turns out that the parts guy was looking up the bag mounts for a 2009 XB12XT. I ordered a 2009 XB12X. Heassures me that all is well and my mounts are on order. When they come in I will list all the part #'s here on the Badweb. If it all goes well it will be really neat as all of H&B bags use the same mounts so you can buy any bag you want and put them on your Buell mounting kit. |

My top box is massive, as in two-helmet massive. The sidecases are the smaller (like on the cop bike) sizes but they work great for what I do. |

Thanks everyone for the info. Harley_j - Touratech does make them for the XB12X and Jaime, the problem I was having was whether the stock mounts would work or were there other mounts required. Additionally, I have an XT, which is about 4 inches longer than the X. Skinstains - great info. Look forward to hearing what you come up with. I'm also looking at some Jesse's that came off a BMW that I might be able to fit with some coaxing. Please also have patience with my ignorance of the subject - I just got rid of my Road King and the sport touring/adventure deal is all new to me. |

I don't even have my Uly yet. The bags I bought were the "H&B Aluminum Exclusive" the sides are 40 litres and the top is 45 litres. Hey Court I wasn't trying to say that yours is too small. i just want everyone to know mine is huge ! |
