If you wish to make such sweeping generalizations toward Saab cars you may just gain some Saab wisdom here Suggest you click on the link to Abbott Racing history page for Saab enlightenment. Rocket |

I apologize for thread jackin', but if anything looks like a Duc, it is the tubers. I am listening, but I don't understand why you all think those are so tough. The XB's are the most raw bike's I have ever seen! The damn things look like Stealth Fighters. Ain't nuthin girly bout that! |

Love the Tubers. Don't care much for the new genre. Just my never-so-humble opinion. However, don't go bustin' Saabs. Just like our Beloved Buells, they are a Cult Toy! Hell, even Court and Newfie, have/had them. |

Not busting Saabs at all...well maybe just the looks I have never driven nor ridden in one. Only looked at them & it hurt my eyes. Like the say "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder", & thank Allah that im not beholding a Saab. |

"Mother's grab their children when they see me coming." You might wanna consider that their action has little to do with the "bike". |

Imagine, how I feel with an F-250 and a Saab 9-3? My self-esteem is shattered, simply shattered. I leave for a day and return to find that Rocket is lecturing ala a Nobel Laureate and that my Saab is a fast car. The upside is that it makes the 120,000+ mile F-250 that goes faster than the Saab appear, in comparions, an admirable machine. The internet is begging to be downgraded from "information source" to "entertainment". Off to play Super Mario Brothers in hopes I can raise my I.Q. by 2 points. I love it "Badweb + Viagra for the Mind". Gads.... By the way, Didn't the gloved one use the "Mother hide their children" quote in his arraingment? |

By the way, Didn't the gloved one use the "Mother hide their children" quote in his arraingment? court now your just being cantankerous!!!!! man you can tell some things have decended from HD in our culture..... "back alley brawlin looks" god I can't stop laughin at that. great motorcycles ,like sport cars, are sorta supposed to remind us of women..I.e. curves and defintion and such. look at the ducks before they change last year, nuthin but sexy curves, all bikes and sports cars used to have curves, now we have computer designs and stuff and pointy lines and blah bvlah blah. I personaly don't like looking at the manly forms out there. give me girlie anyday. now if you like looking at manly forms, not that theres anything wrong with that, have at!!! give me girlie or give me death!!!! |

Maybe it's just me,but when i look at an XB i see a grasshopper, those big frame rails look like a hopper ready to hop and those double headlights look like bug eyes.Maybe those Tuetel chopper guys, that look like wallrus, will make one into an insect theme bike. |

What I like about the looks of the 9S: Big rear tire and nothing much else from the back (I removed passenger stuff and the cheese grater). The corbin seat has a big ass which I like The bike is small where it counts and big where it counts. The engine looks massive compared to the bike. The tank is high and everything is stuck in the middle. And it looks like nothing else out there. Esp in yellow! Lastly, some SAABS MAY be fast (many mags thought the viggen was a dog) but in my eyes, they have made some of the ugliest cars on record. Remember the AMC PACER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Remember the AMC PACER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhh...That would be the "Aquarium on Wheels" brought to you by the same corporation that invented the "Kenosha Kadillac." Oh well, at least with the reclining seats they made the "Local Drive-in Movie News." |

A couple of my previous jobs allowed me to drive and work on almost all of the European makes and Saabs aren't even in the ballpark. There's just nothing remarkable about them, particularly here in the U.S. where 300+h.p. vehicles are common. |

Ayden you've worked on Saab's? Guess you're not that good then as you obviously missed Saab's remarkable attributes - hard to do considering how world renowned Saab are for exactly that reason. Saab the Innovator mean anything to you? Rocket edited by rocketman on December 21, 2003 |

Rocket, I must admit, I never thought I'd actually see eye to eye with you on something, but I've been driving Saabs since I got my license and so does the rest of my family. Amazing drive, and we've have a few over 300 thousand with no difficulty. I do all the work myself and currently have a '92 9KT. Definitely a fun car. |

Hello, new guy on the block here. Been all over the web for the last couple of weeks doing research on the Buell.....think I've decided on a 2001 S3, since it kind of fits my riding style. I rode one in Knoxville a couple of years ago at the Goldwing get together and it kind of always stuck with me. Being 50+ I don't need 145 hp., and couldn't use it if I had it.... anyway it's nice to be here. |

SAAB is quite the innovator. Their basic styling shape has been the same since maybe 1970. Or earlier. And you know, having a front driver small engine turbo is unique, no one else has that do they? Give me a break.

From the perspective that I had to look at them(Saabs) from, there was nothing about them that made them stand out when compared to the other Euro makes I dealt with. Was there unique engineering-yes, did it make for a superior product IMHO-no. Mostly it just made them a pain in the neck to deal with. Did they handle, ride, or perform better? Again-no. |

Mikexup...Welcome to the home of the Buell Crazed Crowd. Sounds like you fit right in with the logic pattern employed for your decision to become a Bueller. The bikes are fun and a great way to confuse the hell out of the kids in the twisties. For some reason, they just don't understand torque until they get a little older. LOL. Incidentally, we are a "car club" this week and probably will be a "computer club" next. Not to worry, eventually all threads gravitate back to Buells. |

SAAB's they haven't benn the same since they dropped the freewheel. I do like them, had over 200000 very hard miles on my 900. A very nice car but I like me '73 96 more. The thing about the original 95,96 series was that it was a nice car overall with good handling etc - The V-4 was no were near the 3 in that regard but sitll nice - BUT it is arguably the finest foul weather car ever produced. It could tackle snow better than anything except serious 4wd vehicles. They had 7.5 inches of ground clearance and massive amounts of weight on the front end. The few times I got stuck, only twice both times in snow well over a foot deep, back up woould get you out. It had a heater that could roast dinner. ( I once drove mine in the summer with a nasty leak in the radiator. When the temp gauge started to climb from lack of coolant I would turn on the heat and keep going until I could pull of the freeway and add water. The heater core had enough capacity to keep me going for miles.) Dave |

When we had a monster snow storm last year with about 2ft. of snow, between the traction control system and the front wheel drive I could go anyplace, plowed or not. I've had plenty of friends with trucks and I could get around just as well. As for the innovator thing, they actually were the ones to pioneer many technologies in cars, planes too. Ejection seat, yup that was their invetion. Making the turbo a viable long lasting option on a car, yup they did that too. Subaru and all the other ricers might as well thank them for that one. Traction control, been around awhile now on Saabs, while its only been a high end option on most others for a few years now. I guess I like them for the same reasons I like Buells. They aren't (weren't until GM bought them anyway) afraid to be different. They knew what kinda car they wanted to make and if they had to forge new ground to do it, not a problem, if it meant they didn't exactly fit the mold, no problem. Creative thinking for a real purpose is what I call it. Thats why I got an XB, and several Saabs now. |

Re the saab and snow. How would that SAAB do against the subaru wrx awd model with 250+ HP?? Now that is innovation for cheap bucks.
