I second the Schoolboys! No mod's required for cables, black looks great, and elbows-out dirtbike feel is nice too!

Oxygen, i went with a Rizoma oversized clamp for fatbars. check out their site for more info.

there are certainly cheaper options out there, but damn is the Rizoma a nice piece.

EDIT: i got my clamp from Trojan, btw.

I highly recommend Precision Engineering and their new fat bar clamps:

FTB: I am not ripping on your setup at all as I ask this, I am merely trying to figure it out! I see bar risers and lower bars. Why the lower bars and risers? Seems counter-productive to me! :-p I see that they are a fatter bar (prob 1 1/8"?): what is the perceived value in that? I've always wondered why the hype over fatter bars on our bikes (for the crowd that likes em), when they need to taper back down to 7/8" anyway to fit our controls...

Nice looking setup tho.

I was looking mainly for less pullback. The lower bar was a plus. The bar is MUCH lower than the stock ULY bar.

Here is a comparison:

I could've gone with a lower bar clamp, but for long distance, I would have made the riding position a little uncomfortable.

i cant find the Azonic MX bars anywhere. all i can seem to find are bars made by them for mountain bikes.

i want to ditch the chrome swing seat bars i have on mine something fierce.
definately looking for lower and less pullback in black.
Crossroads would be nice, just too expensive for my blood.

chippy, e-mail me at: last350@hotmail.com

I looked for the Azonic MX bars when I was looking as well.

I believe they have been discontinued.

motorcyclesuperstore and bikebandit usually stock them.

This is great info. I just got a deal? on some scruffy Tagmetal fatbars. Mostly, just so I could add some of PE's art to my bike. Man, PE makes cool stuff. I'm still thinking I might have to go from S to STT or XT cables? Looks pretty tight, unless you use risers with a REALLY low bar.

Badlions -- How thick is the Crossroads plate? It looks like 5/16" or so. Somewhere here flexing was reported, but that looks pretty sturdy. I was really considering teddagreek's clipon setup, but your pic looks pretty good. What model Buell is your bike and what cables did you use? Are yours the zero degree?

FTB: I'm still scratching my head a bit! Did they not make a bar that was the right height and pullback? I would think finding a bar that had a bit more height would have worked easier and saved the extra expense and install of the riser?

There wasn't a 7/8" bar that had the rise and pullback I wanted. For strength, most of the flatter bars are fat bars.

This required a fat bar clamp of one sort or another.

At the time, the most cost effective was the fat bar clamp from Precision Engineering.

The bar isn't as low as it COULD be, but that's ok. I wasn't necessarily looking for lowest. I was looking for lower, wider, and less pullback.

I looked at the Renthal 7/8" kit from American Sport Bike, but I didn't like the pullback and height. To go lower required a 7/8" or a crossbar.

I didn't want a crossbar.

The riser is only 1". It isnt' like they are the Rox Risers or anything.

If someone want's a fatbar, they will need to change out the clamps to do it. Mine just happened to come with an extra inch of rise. This was fine for me, and it provided access to the fork adjustments. A lower bar clamp wouldn't have allowed the open access.

"There wasn't a 7/8" bar that had the rise and pullback I wanted."

That makes it all make sense! :-p

Looks good too. Do the fatter bars help with vibration at all?

Actually they do. Part of it is the fat bar design. Part of it is that they are aluminum vs. steel.

They don't seem to transmit as much vibration as the stockers.
