Has or does any body use RainX on there visor. I have a Scorpion helmet. Don't know if plastic ans silicone go well with each other. Kevin |

RainX is acidified alcohol. Over the long run it can only do bad things to your visor. |

I've also heard that: 1) rainX causes the water to bead up into LARGE droplets, which is worse for vision through a visor than unaffected water. 2) helmet visors aren't angled enough for the water to slide off. From my personal experience, it doesn't help. |

I dont know about your helmet but with mine I just have to tilt my head to the left and right for a quick second and the water comes off. I also have a glove w/ a rubber wipper built on the backside of the thumb. Actually works really well. |

I've used it and like it. The water does bead up and rolls off the visor. As for the self-life of a visor, they should be replaced after a season. Think about it, visibility vs. visor? I'm a believer. I use Rain-X on my HJC helmet and have never had any problem. 'Great Visablity.' Personally never tried a tinted visor, but it works great with my clear one. I use Rain-X for more then just my cars and helmets. -applied to my house windows.(rarely ever have to wash windows) -applied to the glass in my showers.(no more soap scum!) -I have even put it on every pair of goggle lens for hare scrambles.(six years) When tear offs go to shit nothing like good ol' Rain-X! |

no rainX on my arai, cleaning your helmet it does the same thing since visors aren't exactly sticky. +1 on the turn helmet to the side a bit both ways and any significant water comes right off. the only time i have ever had an issue is prolonged riding in mist but that was some odd weather and i had the same problem in a car going over a pass and that had wipers so i think its just a bad situation in general. |

I used Rain-X for over a year on my visor and mirrors and I liked it. No detrimental effects. I'm waiting for the myth busters episode. As point_doc says, you need to change visors anyway. The visor survived Rain-X,but went misty after a single application of bug remover. I'm using a pump action furniture polish now. It's call Mr Sheen - don't know if it is international, but it is the same sort of thing as Pledge. It doesn't bead the water as well as Rain-X, but it is easier to carry around. The Rain-X bottle needs to be carried upright. |

"RainX is acidified alcohol" Actually it is mostly water with a small amount of two alcohols...rubbing alcohol and butyl cellosolve (2-butoxyethanol) and a surfactant. Ingredients from MSDS/Label Surfactant(s) (unspecified) <10 Isopropanol <5 2-Butoxyethanol 1-5 Water 70-95 Frank |

I've used car wax on motorcycle winshields with excellent results. Can't remember if I ever tried it on a helmet visor/shield. However, I would only recommend trying it on a clear shield. |

I use rain-x on the outside and rain-x anti-fog on the inside of my nolan. Still fogs some but clears faster. Side to side works good but tilting down sent the water down my neck I go through visors every month or two with or without the rain-x. So, I don't worry as long as I can see. |

I use S100 detail and wax on the inside and outside of my visors. It works great for anti-fogging and water repelling. I used to use Honda Polish before they killed it http://www.s100.com/s100_dw.htm |

RainX on my Schuberth for several years, no problems, and a big help in the rain. |

Harley Gloss or quick-detailer works for me. Gives just enough "slick" on the visor so a quick head-turn L / R will scoot the stuff off. Haven't had any clouding issues yet. |

It didn't help on my shark visor. |

I use Plexus. Apply sparingly or you'll have to use some elbow grease to buff out the streaks. Water beads up and rolls off, and the visor is so clean you barely realize it's even there. |

Ftd - I beg to differ slightly http://tinyurl.com/5p9u59 It is a lightly acidified alcohol. |

I use it on my whole helmet. The trick is to make sure after you put it on you wipe it all off. Sounds funny but if any is left on you'll get a nasty haze. I don't use it so much for rain but it makes bug guts come off oh so easy. I use it on all my visors; clear, tinted and mirrored. |
