Has any one tried to fit 1125 CR Clubman bars on an XB Lightning? If so, please share your experience - and pics if possible. Ride more, stay young! Frederic |

or the option CR bars, they look like just a lower rise then stock Lightning bars. |

They remind me of my old Ace bars which looked good, but I thought made my bike less controllable in the wet. I guess they are the same diameter as the Lightning bars because the grips and throttle tube fit but they look a slightly bigger diameter to me. |

or a low cost alternative, BikeMaster Clubmans for about $25 (Message edited by barker on November 06, 2008) |

I've been wondering about that myself. thought about the cheaper "bike master" kind of bars, but thought the CR bars would surely look better/stouter, especially being black. Also been eyeballing this piece from Precision Engineering to make it happen. http://www.preeng.com/xcart/product.php?productid= 4&cat=5&page=2 |

Would you need riser? |

The typical old school Clubmans will need some kind of riser or simple spacer. Here is a set of Tomaselli adjustable clubmans on custom risers.
Trac96ker makes a very nice set of clubmans with built in risers, very nice solution. |

I think so, to get over those preload adjusters on XB forks. There's been several threads in the past about people putting the cheaper clubman bars on their bikes. I'm not sure how the shape of CR bars and those other clubmans compare, but I'd guess that it'd be a pretty similar install. As far as rerouting the control cables and such. And they all used some sort of riser to clear the forks, since the CR bars are fatter in the middle, you'd def need some rise. and I'm kinda guessing the CR bars are 1 1/8th inch, anybody know for sure? |

I got to sit on a CR the other day. I didn't have a tape measure with me but it looks like the bars are plenty wide enough to clear the fork adjusters. They are larger dia. at the mount points but not sure the exact size. |

The CR bars are 1" not 7/8"? |

They are thicker at the mount points but taper down to 7/8" |

So we'd have to have some sort of adapter, or change the top triple to use the CR bars on our XBeez. Bummer... |

yep, in the center just at the tripple tree mount, then taper down to 7/8" the riser piece kinda goes against the idea of clubmans'...don'cha think? what we really need are some z-bars. i made my own set, but in hindsight it would have been worth it to buy them. |

Is there a riser for 1" bars that would fit the XB mount?...+ how much are the Buell Clubman bars? May be the better deal is to go with the BikeMaster Clubmans (I wish thay came in black or anonized instead of chrome) |

Torque, Happy to give you a measurement, but not sure exactly which measurement you need. Is it distance X, shown below?

http://www.preeng.com/xcart/product.php?productid= 5 The clubman bars I have seen and tried out have all had too much sweep on them. The angles are awkward. The clubmans on the CR seem much better to me.

Spacer note: Fly is the brand, and they came with a pad for dirt bikes. They cost $50. Look
Rather nicely done and would work for you as well. The bars are pricey though at around 135 - thats clip-on price range. EZ |

Are they 7/8 or 1" in dia. at the mounting? Also, did you order them from a Buell dealer? Is that a Blast? COOL! Frederic |
