After going down yesterday, I am thinking about buying a leather suit. Haven't decided whether I am going with a 1 or 2 piece suit yet. What I'd like is some recommendations. I am 6'3" weigh in at 160, have a 30" waist and have a very long torso and relatively short legs. Anybody help me out? | ||

Although I'm not as skinny as you, I had a similar problem of finding a suit that was tall enough without being huge in the midsection. I am right under 6'3" and weigh around 185, however, I have long legs (36" inseam). I went with a 2 piece suit from Alpinestars known as the SG-1. I ordered a 46 US (56 EUR) and it fits pretty well. It is plenty tall and although it is a little big around the waist, it is not too baggy. I plan on buying some type of kidney/lower back protector to not only better protect me but to also fill this extra space. I hope this helps you in your search to find a proper fitting suit. I'm 6-1" 165, 32" inseam and have a Shift SR1 Jacket, and Shift Redline pants. These connect with a 360* zipper. The pants I believe also have the short zipper for other jackets. I went two piece over one for riding to work etc I only wear the pants when I'm going on more spirited rides. One thing I have found, is I find the leather pants more comfortable over a long distance vs jeans, I can ride 100 miles longer in the leathers before I get monkey butt. If you ride in colder climates, I would hesitate to recommend this jacket and pant, the only ventilation is perforated leather patches, and the liner for the jacket doesn't help much. I second the AStars. They are definitely cut for skinny folk. I couldn't wear 'em. | ||

Cyclegear up in the rivergate area carries some 1-pc leathers sometimes, as well as jackets and pants. Sloans in the Boro carries jackets and pants sometimes, and I think I recall seeing a few 1-pc suits in there sometimes. | ||

Yeah Sloans and Cyclegear are your two best options. I bought my pants at the Suzuki of Cool Springs shop. Problem is that no one carries much of a selection of anything. Probably get some good deals at Cyclegear this time of year. Their AStars stuff usually goes on sale right about now. They don't advertise it, but you can haggle on price. | ||

A Star!!! +1 But it always a good idea to go to a store and try them out. I went to Philly cycle and had a guy measure and order my suit, he said if it didn't fit right we could try another brand or other size. I ended up w a 2pc A stare that I love. Jacket should be tighter then you would think. |
