I been running mobile 1 v-twin in my bolt since I bought it w/2700 miles. It had syn3 right after first dealer service. I put in mobile at the 5k mark. I researched and found an article that helped make my decition plus I know who makes Mobile,,, I don't know who makes syn3,,, what I do know is that HD is not an oil company,,, therefore all they do is buy someone elses oil low and sell high.. I like the fact of mobile because I can get it at one of the 4 walmarts here at any given time usualy. They don't close.

Man, do people just make this stuff up?

"there is some anecdotal evidence that the Mobil 1 will cause stator failure."

Here's the answer:
DO NOT USE ANY GL-5 GEAR OIL (no matter who makes it) IN YOUR TRANNY -- UNLESS THE OIL MFG SAYS IT'S OKAY (like Redline).

Mobil1 works great in the tranny.

Regular car and MC synth, but not their hyployd gear oil 70/90 type stuff has like a 3 percent sulfide content - not wire friendly in the long run -

Ez: the issue isn't "Mobil1", the problem is "GL-5" GEAR OIL!!! Don't matter who makes it (except for Redline), just don't put GL-5 gear oil in your tranny

Everyone, say it with me:
No GL-5 gear oil in my tranny
No GL-5 gear oil in my tranny
No GL-5 gear oil in my tranny

Hopefully everyone will get it by now...

Extra Virgin olive oil is ok, but the higher flash point of peanut oil makes it better for frying. The advantage to the olive oil is that it is higher in monounsaturated fats, where the peanut oil is higher in polyunsaturated fats - both good fats by the way, but I prefer monounsaturated. Either one is excellent for raising your HDL (High Density Lipoprotein levels), but olive oil has also been shown to correlate with lessening the occurence of certain cancers. The first pressing of olive oil tends to produce the most flavorful oil, with each subsequent pressing producing oil that is lighter in flavor than the previous. Olive oil is also part of a Mediterranean diet, which has long been touted as a healthy lifestyle. I've also use Olive oil to fuel hurricane lamps in a pinch. It's an expensive light source, but sometimes it is the only thing you have. You could also run olive oil in your diesel engine if you had too, but you'd need a fuel pre-heater if you plan on leaving the car or truck outside when the temps run below freezing. I'd avoid canola oil, which is a manufactured oil made from toxic rapeseed oil. There is no such thing as a canola, it's a tradename. What the hell is a canola anyway?

I hope this helps.

GL-5 has a high sulphur content that will eat, corrode the lacquer and then the copper in your stator which is under you engine primary sprocket.

Some are using Mobil 1 engine oil in both the primary/gearbox and the engine but do not use the Mobil gear oil.

Canola oil comes from rapeseed, but I guess somebody in Canada decided that might not be a very marketable name for a product.
