I was riding and shifting gears became very hard... and then i couldn't shift at all. it looks like my clutch cable broke... are these easy to replace? thanks. |

Very easy to replace. Just be careful when you are installing it back into the primary case. They are notorious for breaking off in the primary because of craptastic design. I broke one. Be extra careful, oh and it doesn't need any torque. Just nudge it down. |

Just replaced mine 2 nights ago.... After a short ride I noticed it was shifting very odd, upon inspection the next morning I found that the wire strands where ALL broke EXCEPT one single little strand! I wouldnt have made it to work with only one, haha! It took about 45 minutes to change and add my free spirits soft clutch piece. Make sure you install the threaded part into the primary cover FIRST! this way the rest of the cable can flop around as you screw it in, otherwise you will break it, as I did my last one. then take caution to not let that piece get too much force on the bend as you route the rest of the cable. |
