Just to add a diferent perspective to this, bikers and ordenairy folk in the UK were receintly outraged by the conviction if two bikers who were recorded racing each other along a winding duel carrageway at 160 and 170 miles an houre respectivly. The couple hit the headlines and became national hearos as for the first time in British history a jail sentance was ordered for speeding. News groups quickly formed "Free the speeding two" campains and the chaps were relieced early having spent a week behind bars.

Brittish justice, OUTRAGIOUS & UNCIVILISED!

Stot,

DUI varies by state... run a search on DUI United States statutes and tell us what you found.

Alcohol and moving parts (unless they are attached to your body) do not mix... anyone knows that.

The very best defence against radar of course is the one that come standard with every Buell.*
Gonen:It's good to hear you've got a lawyer. You'll probably be able to plea down to speeding. The Dekalb County Police here in Georgia have started an anti-sportbike campaign. If your doing 80 or above you go to jail and the bike goes to impound for at least 24 hours, automatically, no if ands or buts. So, it sounds as if you're not doing too bad right now.
As far as the turmoil goes, with arguing on an open forum like this, ya gotta have thick skin. Especially on a motorcycle forum when discussing speeding, not wearing full racing leather all the time...ect...
Best of luck.
*your speedometer!

Anti-sportbike campaign? Sheesh, that's scary.

Sunday while out on the Electra-Glide (in blue) a Seattle motorcycle cop (on a Harley) gave me an appreciative thumbs up. I doubt that he would have done that if I was going by him on the XB9S. :O

As far as I understand it, here in VA, 90mph or above, is go directly to jail. The officer was pretty nice. I am always very respectful to the police. My brother is a detective in one of our neighboring cities.

cops always wave at HD riders. When ever I was out on my chopper, they were cool. I have had some wave as I go by on the XB9S/R.

88mph is worthy of a speeding ticket, I just don't see reckless driving involved. But, that is the law, I broke it, and I was caught. I will now deal with it, the best I can.

Guess I better take the nitrous bottle out of the mustang...

Get back on your medication!

Never said I havent gone faster than 88, but Im not the one on here yakking about locking up the rear going around corners acting like a squid & then crying because you got nailed.

Too bad, it sux. Time to pay the piper I guess.
I said you should feel lucky it wasnt worse. You could have been hauled to jail or even worse been involved in an accident. maybe this cop actually did you a favor..ever think about that?

And as far as my speed goes, I have slowed down a lot over the last few years. Just not into the hell bent for leather speeds anymore. half the time you dont get there any quicker due to stoplights & what have you, & if you get busted then you are going to waste a lot of time sitting waiting for the cop to write the ticket, waste more time in court, waste more time talking to your insurance company along with the added insurance premiums. its really not worth it in the long run.

But its obvious you dont get it, so just forget it.

Wow Misato, is that a sneak preview of the 2005 Buells? Wow, park and reverse, wow. ;)

Side note: Track days are expensive, until you compare them to speeding tickets and legal fees.

Alright, I was going to keep my mouth shut... but, Dyna what is your point here??? You have said the same thing three times and no one is listening.

I, myself, have a tendency to do 80 or 90 mph if I am on the M2L on a superslab trying to get somewhere or outrun the rain. No big deal... I have been lucky and have not gotten a ticket on the bike yet.

Just dumb luck.
What---ever !!!

well the part no one knows is that I just re-geared the truck (4.56) and the speedo is like 25 mph off.. makes a good pic though(co-driver took the shot)

I was just poking the bear

I didn't know Dyna's little Rascal could get up over 14mph?

The best route you can go is get a LOCAL lawyer. Let him hash everything out and spend time under the Judges desk. It will cost you though.

Well Char, I wasn't going to say anything either, but oh well !!

Dyna, it's not that what your saying is wrong, it may be HOW your saying it !??

Maybe you sound a little mean about it, instead of trying to be helpful, he probably screwed up, but we all have to learn !! I'm just glad he may learn without having hurt himself worse, or even got killed !

We've all been wrong sometimes and done stupid things, got lucky sometimes, and got caught sometimes, and annoyed/angry about it and spouted off and then calmed down, thought about it and listened to advice given and tried to do better !!

He's not a lost cause or he wouldn't still be posting here about it !! Lighten up !!

CJ

My such nice civil language. I wonder if that how you talked to the cop?

And have you or have you not bragged about locking up the tire going around corners? If needed I can refresh your memory. Pay your ticket, wipe your tears & slow down. The next life you save may be your own.

Time to reel the fishy in?
LOL:D

I can see this clown stomping around the room reading my replies. Probably some Fe-Fi-Fo-Fum crap. Love to see him get this worked up in a court room & have the judge find him in contempt, lock him up & double the fine.

On the topic of 110MPH in a truck... It has a modified corvette front suspension (More like a cross between corvette and Mote-Carlo SS) and panhard at the rear. It's sticks well and is VERY stable at speed. Needs new front dampers though :).
