Too loud? Never heard of such a thing! Def don't go back to stock, that would suck. Find a factory race pipe maybe- I'm sure there's someone here that will swap with you for the Spec Ops pipe... |

The race pipe is a good medium, nice power without being too loud. I actually find the race pipe loud for my taste but the factory can just sounds like crap. |

I just swapped back to stock from a spec ops last night. I don't regret it. The stock pipe is very well designed, but it has some compromises for cost and noise. I'm going to build my own pipe that won't have such constraints but maintains the tuned length. |

I'll buy any XB12R Special OPS exhaust (in good condition) that someone doesn't want. Just let me know... |

That's what I did -- someone was concerned with noise and I offered to buy it. I am very happy with my new SpecialO.P.S. and the people I live next to (retirees) have yet to complain or bat an eye -- personally I think that as long as you don't come and go during the wee hours most people are not going to care -- it's a friggen motorcycle, not a bicycle after all. Personally, I wear custom fit ear plugs while riding that I also use while shooting and they are perfect for both. Just common sense IMHO. |

Just because your bike is new (low miles) doesn't mean a thing , as far as changing the exhaust...On my first Lightning. I put a Drummer (and race ECM/K&N filter) the day after I bought it!!! I have a SpecialOPS tailgunner on my current bike, and the sound is exactly what I think it should be!!!!love it. |

I used to have the tailgunner......but now it's just a regular SpecOPS due to road debris taking one heat shield off -- I took the other one off -- sheesh Odie, you tack those on well man! Honestly, ad idle speeds the SpecOPS isn't so much loud as it is more resonant -- the way it should sound instead of the more flat stock pipe. Still, even stock a Buell sounds great. |

Special O.P.S. is a sponsor here, check out his website, has several other cool Buell items, not just exhaust |
