My XT has seen 115 with me trying to chase my brother on his v-rod. He always wins! |

Sumpin to think about - at 120 mph, the dynamic pressure is ABOUT 33 pounds per square foot on an unstreamlined shape (your upper body). Add the usual effects of turbulent flow around a blunt body and it's just gonna be BOUNCY. Tilting foward actually reduces drag a bit (reduces the "square footage") but also the ANGLE that your upper body presents to the wind can create lift... you can imagine as much as 50+ pounds of lift unless you're bouncing your chin off the airbox cover. ...and check your tires, head bearings, suspension settings... and get to a track somewhere. These bikes are MUCH MORE FUN when turning at speed than going in a straight line!!! |

even more fun when the ground is sliding out from under neath you in a controlled drift over pea rock or gravel shale. 60 on dirt is fast enough for me right now, any of you want to try and lead me on the back roads, I am up for a game of follow the leader. Plus no cops or traffic on forest roads. * I am not counting the errant berry picker or the logging trucks as traffic |

Can't outrun the cops in Omaha, NE! Last summer a rocket was clocked at 156 on the expressway. It took 3miles but they caught him. You can outrun the cops, maybe even the radio, but a copter . . . not happening. Oh ya . . . the violator's excuse, 'I was late for work.' He will probably not ride a bike for a longggggg time. I'm with CityX. 110+ on an empty stretch of road is mildly wreckless. You want crazy enough for hospitalization . . . try 65+ on dirt, gravel, or sand! |

I had problems with a high speed wobble 105+ in the past it turns out the guys that mounted my tires cant balance my tires for nothing the weights fell off the front tire and the bike rides perfect all the way to red line now. |

I've had my bike topped out, the front end is a little light, doing right around 145 indicated on a slight uphill stretch that was straight for miles. Not a normal ride for me, I just wanted to see what she'ld do. 08 12R with about 4k on the clock the first time I went full throttle through all the gears. I'm at 6k now, with the bike making more power all the time, I'm kinda afraid to run it that high again, I'm much more content doing 85-90 through some twistys than pure speed in a straight line. |
